<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />regular meeting, June 25, 1979 <br /> <br />page five <br /> <br />158 <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE GENERAL ZONING <br />ORDINANCE BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF THREE <br />TRACTS OF LAND IN J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE <br />#1 (FURTHER DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS <br />IN ATTACHED EXHIBITS A, B, AND C), LOCATED <br />SOUTH OF LOWMAN AIRFIELD ALONG INTERSTATE <br />HIGHWAY 35 SOUTH, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE <br />FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "I" (INDUSTRIAL). <br /> <br />Mr. Hyatt moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. <br />Mr. James seconded the motion. Mr. Tenorio suggested that <br />the Industrial Development Committee review proposed zoning <br />of industrial property and other related items before they <br />were presented to the City Council. On roll call, the motion <br />to approve the ordinance on second reading passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE GENERAL ZONING <br />ORDINANCE BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF <br />LOTS 8 AND 9, BLOCK 1 OF THE RIO VISTA <br />TERRACE SUBDIVISION, LOCATED AT THE <br />CORNER OF ROBERTS AND SYCAMORE STREETS, <br />FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) <br />TO "M" (MIXED). <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. <br />Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion. The City Attorney informed <br />the Council that she was still waiting to receive statements <br />from all owners having an interest in the property from the <br />time the zoning ordinance was adopted until the present to <br />determine whether or not,it enjoyed a non-conforming mixed <br />use status. On roll call, the motion to approve the ordinance <br />on second reading passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br />SECTION 27-5, ENTITLED "FARES" OF <br />ARTICLE I ENTITLED "IN GENERAL" OF <br />CHAPTER 27, ENTITLED "TAXICABS" OF THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY, BY <br />REPEALING SUBSECTION (C) OF SAID SECTION <br />WHICH SET THE RATE OF FARE FOR ALL <br />PASSENGERS OF ANY TAXICAB SERVICE OPERAT- <br />ING WITHIN SAID CITY; ENACTING A NEW <br />SUBSECTION (C) TO SAID SECTION WHICH PRO- <br />VIDES FOR THE AUTHORIZED RATE OF FARE FOR <br />SAID PASSENGERS; AND ESTABLISHING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Hyatt moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. <br />Mr. Tenorio seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br />EXHIBIT "A" OF SECTION 2-54, ENTITLED <br />"BOUNDARIES" OF ARTICLE IV, ENTITLED <br />"BELVIN HISTORICAL 'DISTRICT", OF <br />CHAPTER 2, ENTITLED "ADMINISTRATION" <br />OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, BY ENLARGING THE <br />BOUNDARIES OF THE BELVIN HISTORICAL <br />DISTRICT, AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE. DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Hyatt moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. <br />Mr. James seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br />
