I I I regular meeting, June 25, 1979 page five 158 The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE GENERAL ZONING ORDINANCE BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF THREE TRACTS OF LAND IN J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE #1 (FURTHER DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN ATTACHED EXHIBITS A, B, AND C), LOCATED SOUTH OF LOWMAN AIRFIELD ALONG INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 35 SOUTH, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "I" (INDUSTRIAL). Mr. Hyatt moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. James seconded the motion. Mr. Tenorio suggested that the Industrial Development Committee review proposed zoning of industrial property and other related items before they were presented to the City Council. On roll call, the motion to approve the ordinance on second reading passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE GENERAL ZONING ORDINANCE BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 8 AND 9, BLOCK 1 OF THE RIO VISTA TERRACE SUBDIVISION, LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF ROBERTS AND SYCAMORE STREETS, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "M" (MIXED). Mr. Cavazos moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion. The City Attorney informed the Council that she was still waiting to receive statements from all owners having an interest in the property from the time the zoning ordinance was adopted until the present to determine whether or not,it enjoyed a non-conforming mixed use status. On roll call, the motion to approve the ordinance on second reading passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 27-5, ENTITLED "FARES" OF ARTICLE I ENTITLED "IN GENERAL" OF CHAPTER 27, ENTITLED "TAXICABS" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION (C) OF SAID SECTION WHICH SET THE RATE OF FARE FOR ALL PASSENGERS OF ANY TAXICAB SERVICE OPERAT- ING WITHIN SAID CITY; ENACTING A NEW SUBSECTION (C) TO SAID SECTION WHICH PRO- VIDES FOR THE AUTHORIZED RATE OF FARE FOR SAID PASSENGERS; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Hyatt moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Tenorio seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING EXHIBIT "A" OF SECTION 2-54, ENTITLED "BOUNDARIES" OF ARTICLE IV, ENTITLED "BELVIN HISTORICAL 'DISTRICT", OF CHAPTER 2, ENTITLED "ADMINISTRATION" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, BY ENLARGING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE BELVIN HISTORICAL DISTRICT, AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE. DATE. Mr. Hyatt moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. James seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
