I I I 29 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUGUST 7, 1978 Present: Robert L. Cavazos Mayar Council Members Frank T. Arredando Ted Breihan John A. Hansen Bob Hyatt Berry R. James Kenneth E. Suttan City Secretary Assistant City Attorney Assistant to. the City Manager Director, Cammunity Services Director, Finance Director, Public Warks Directar, Public Safety Dariss Hambrick Barbara Edwards Jake Krauskapf Albert Sierra Earl Williams Ray Katawski Rabert Minnie Also. Present: Jerri Martin, Alan King, Gearge Vandervort, Jack Majar, Buckley Major, Larry Paale, Randall Morris, Gordon Thompson, Juan Palama, A. R. Adcack, Jeff Ebner, Gary Bond, Dempsey Serur, Warren Leddick, Jorge Cruz-Aeda, Dan Laine, Kay Corpier, Tommy Ragsdale, Ruth Thomas, Carliss Dees, Gilbert Tenario, Charles Stane, Margan Fuschak, Austin Varner, and others. The Mayor called the meeting to arder at 6:00 p.m. The minutes af the regular meeting held July 31, 1978 were appraved an matian af Mr. Hyatt and secand af Mr. James. At 6:05 p.m., the meeting was recessed into. executive sessian on mation af Mr. Breihan and second af Mr. Hyatt. The meeting recanvened in regular sessian at 9:00 p.m. on motion af Mr. Hansen and secand af Mr. Breihan. The Mayor reported that the Cauncil had met and selected an Acting City Manager necessitated by the letter of resignation submitted by City Manager C. J. Webster an Friday, August 4, 1978. Mr. Hyatt maved the letter of resignatian be accepted. Mr. Hansen seconded the mation which passed unanimously. Mr. Hyatt moved to. approve the payment af ane manth's salary to Mr. C. J. Webster as terminatian pay effective as of this date, August 7, 1978. Mr. Breihan secanded the mation which passed unanimously. Mr. Breihan moved to appaint Mr. Albert Sierra as acting City Manager to be compensated at the same salary as City Manager C. J. Webster. Hr. Arredondo. seconded the mation. On roll call, the fallowing vo.te was recarded: AYE: Cavazos, Hyatt, Suttan, Arredondo., Breihan, Hansen NAY: James. Mr. Arredondo. maved to. appaint Mrs. Mildred Sessom and to reappaint Dr. Glenn Longley, Mr. Gerald Farr and Mr, Gilbert Tenorio. to. full terms an the Environmental Advisary Baard. Mr. Hansen seconded the matio.n which passed unanimously. The Mayor reported that Agenda Item #6 which was to. receive a repart fram the Industrial Task Force had been withdrawn fram the agenda.at the request of Task Farce members. The Mayor introduced far consideration a request by Mr. Manuel Mareno. for a permit to. temporarily lacate a mobile home on Juan Veramendi League Number Two, 116 West Jackso.n Lane. Mr. Cavazas reparted that the Planning and Zoning Cammission recommended appraval. No abjections were received. Mr. Arredando moved the permit be approved. Mr. Hansen secanded the mation which passed unanimously.
