<br />60 <br /> <br />special meeting, september 13, 1978 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />Mr. James seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Hyatt read an ordinance in full having the following <br />caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, REPEAL- <br />ING PARAGRAPH "D" OF THAT ORDINANCE <br />CQDIFIED AS SECTION 12-7 IN THE CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES WHICH SECTION IS ENTITLED <br />"GARBAGE COLLECTION CHARGES BY CITY- <br />FROM RESIDENCES", AND IS FILED IN <br />VOLUME 46, PAGE 92 OF THE MINUTES OF <br />THE CITY COUNCIL, SAID PARAGRAPH "D" <br />PERTAINING ONLY TO "BRUSH" COLLECTION; <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND ESTABLISHING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved the ordinance be adopted on emergency <br />basis. Mr. James seconded the motion which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Hyatt read an ordinance in full having the following <br />caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS; ADOPTING THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL <br />YEAR BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 1978, AND <br />ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1979; REVISING <br />THE BUDGET FOR THE PRECEDING FISCAL YEAR <br />ENDING ON SEPTEMBER 30, 1978; LEVYING <br />TAXES FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF THE <br />MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PROVIDING A SINKING <br />FUND FOR THE RETIREMENT OF THE BONDED <br />DEBT OF SAID CITY, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved the ordinance be amended to provide for <br />taxes to be levied for year 1978 instead of 1977 and adopted <br />on emergency basis. Mr. Sutton moved to amend the 1978-1979 <br />budget to abolish the Administrative Services Division and <br />authorize the City Manager to reassign the duties of that <br />division at his discretion. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. Mr. Sutton next moved to amend the <br />1978-1979 budget to place the Community Development Department <br />within the Community Services Division. Mr. Breihan seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously.
