<br />Mayor Cavazos called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
<br />
<br />The minutes of the regular meeting held Monday, October 30,
<br />1978 were approved on motion of Mr. James and second of
<br />Mr. Breihan.
<br />
<br />Mayor Cavazos introduced for consideration appointment of a
<br />Deputy City Secretary. Mrs. Doriss Hambrick, City Secretary,
<br />stated Council had requested someone be appointed to handle
<br />the duties of the City Secretary while the City Secretary was
<br />out on vacation or out of the City. Mrs. Hambrick suggested
<br />Mrs. Mary Castillo be appointed Deputy City Secretary to
<br />handle tasks such as sign deeds, contracts, and other agreements
<br />to attest the Mayor's signature and to sign applications for
<br />state alcoholic beverage permits. She also stated Mrs. Castillo
<br />would have the documents approved by the City Attorney or City
<br />Manager before she would apply the City Seal or sign.
<br />Mr. Cavazos moved Mrs., Mary Castillo be appointed Deputy City
<br />Secretary. Mr. James seconded the motion. On roll call, the
<br />following vote was recorded:

<br />AYE: Hansen, Cavazos, Hyatt, James,
<br />Arredondo, Breihan
<br />NAY: Sutton.

<br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows:
<br />
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING
<br />SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGU-
<br />LATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE
<br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED
<br />MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE
<br />ZONING OF PARTS OF LOTS 22, 23, 24 AND
<br />25 OF THE CHARLES MEINERS ADDITION,
<br />LOCATED AT 1503 LOOP 82, FROM "C"
<br />(COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL).
<br />
<br />Mr. Rod Gilmore was present to state his objections. Mr. James
<br />moved the ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Hyatt
<br />seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was
<br />recorded:

<br />Sutton
<br />NAY: Arredondo.
