<br />Mayar Craddock moved to appoint Mrs. Dempsey Serur and Mr. John Fitzwater to
<br />the Bicentennial Commission. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed
<br />unanimously.
<br />
<br />Mayor Craddock issued an Order calling for a Special Election for Saturday,
<br />May 8, 1976 to elect a Councilman for Place 6. She then read the caption of
<br />a Resolution as follows:
<br />
<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS,
<br />ESTABLISHING PROCEDURE FOR THE SPECIAL, RUN-DFF ELECTION TO BE HELD
<br />ON THE 8TH DAY OF MAY, 1976.

<br />Mr. S~tton moved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion,
<br />which passed unanimously.

<br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows:

<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COl~CIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS,
<br />APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS AND TOM GOYNES,
<br />DBA/GOYNES CANOE LIVERY, FOR THE FUFPOSE OF PROVIDING RECREATIONAL
<br />I~QUIPMENT AT RIO VISTA PARK, SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AND AUTHORIZING THE
<br />MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE SAME ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS.
<br />
<br />Mr. Sutton moved adoption of the Resolution. Mr. Arredondo seconded the motion,
<br />which passed unanimously.

<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS,
<br />APPROVING AN EXTENSION OF TIME OF THE LEASE OF THE OLD CITY HALL
<br />BUILDING TO THE TEXAS MUSEUM OF HISTORY, INC., BY PROVIDING FOR
<br />TERMINATION OF THE CONTRACT ON MAY 31, 1977, APPROVING THE DELETION
<br />OF THE TERMINATION PROVISIONS CONTAINED IN SAID LEASE; AND AUTHORIZING
<br />THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS TO EXECUTE SAID CHANGES ON BEHALF
<br />OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS.

<br />Mr. Arredondo moved adoption of the Resolution. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion.
<br />Questioned by the Mayor, Mr. David Dailey, representative of Texas Museum of
<br />Histo~r, Inc., stated that Southwest Texas State University was involved in the
<br />emplo~nent of the curator and that they wished the lease extended and the termina-
<br />tion provision deleted in order that they might insure the employment contract.
<br />The COlillCil discussed the termination for cause clause, the result being that
<br />Mr. Arredondo withdrew his motion, with consent of the seconder, and moved to
<br />approve the Resolution with Part 2 deleted. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which
<br />passed unanimously.

<br />Mr. Cavazos moved to amend the Resolution.adopted previously regarding the contract
<br />with Gc.ynes Canoe Livery to provide for a termination date of April 12, 1977.
<br />Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

<br />AND FORREST & COTTON, INC., AND JAMES E. BYRN FOR THE PURPOSE OF
<br />PROVIDING ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR ACTION YEAR TWO, UNDER THE
<br />HOUSING AND CO~WIDNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT BLOCK GRANT AND AUTHORIZING
<br />TH3 MAYOR OF SAm CITY TO EXECUTE THE SAME IN BEHALF OF THE CITY.
<br />
<br />Mr. Sutton maved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion,
<br />which passed unanimously.

<br />Mr. Sutton moved that Dr. John Denison be employed as an electrical rates
<br />consultant at a maximum fee of $5,000. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion. On
<br />roll call, the following vate was recorded:
