98 regular meeting, september 13, 1976 page three The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE STATEMENT OF GRANT AWARD TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, FOR A GRANT TO THE SAN MARCOS PUBLIC SAFEl'Y DEPARTMENT FOR TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT. Mr. Hansen moved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. I The Mayor introduced for consideration the bids received for the cemetery maintenance contract. Mr. Breihan moved the bid of Stanley C. Stemen Construction Company be accepted in the amount of $18,835. Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion. Mr. John Shell, submittor of the low . bid, came before the Council to object to Mr. Stemen being awarded the contract, stating that last year he had submitted a higher bid than Mr. Stemen and was not given the contract even though he had much more experience because the Council accepted the lowest bid. Mr. Jack Williams, representing the Cemetery Association, came before the Council to recommend the bid of Mr. Stemen be accepted. On roll call, the vote was unanimous to approve the motion. STEMEN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF SAN MARCOS CEMETERY, AND AlJrHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE SAME ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS. Mr. Cavazos moved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced for consideration bids received on the agricultural lease at the San Marcos Airport. Howard Yeargan, representing the Airport 'Commission, came before the Council to recommend acceptance of the low bid submitted by Arnold Schaeferkoeter. Mr. Hansen moved Mr. Schaeferkoeter's bid/be accepted. Mr. James amende seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. of $8140 annually plus 20% of all 9/~ annual gross receipts OVer $50,000. Mr. Cavazos moved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Breihan requested the Council consider bids received on an asphalt paver ~ld the location of bus stops for the swrsu sbllttle bus system.
