3.01 I 3.02 145a RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE 1976 CHARTER REVIEW COMMISSION Sec. 3.01. Number, selection and term. The legislative and governing body of the city shall consist of seven (7) council members [changed from "councilmen"] and shall be known as the "City Council of San Marcos." (a) The members of the city council shall be elected from the city at large, and each council member Ichanged from "councilman"] shall be elected to and occupy a place on the council, such places being numbered 1 through 7 consecutively. (b) Each council member [changed from "councilman"] shall hold office for a period of three (3) years, staggered so that two (2) and not more than three (3) members be elected to a regular term each year.
