<br />Mr. Arredondo moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Hansen
<br />seconded the motion, whmchhpassed unanimously.

<br />AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS
<br />THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23,
<br />1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, AND' 8,
<br />BLOCK 1 OF THE W.S. SMITH ADDITION, LOCATED AT 736 SMITH AVENUE, FROM
<br />"P-2" (PUBLIC) TO "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL).

<br />Mr. Hansen moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. James seconded
<br />the motion, which passed unanimously.

<br />1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 24 AND 25 OF THE MUNICIPAL
<br />AIRPORT SUBDIVISION, LOCATED ON I.H. 35 SOUTH, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL)
<br />TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL).

<br />The Mayor then introduced, for informational purposes, an Ordinance considerecl
<br />January 24, 1977 on first reading. At that time petitions had been presented from
<br />persons owning at least 20% of the property within 200' of the property in question,
<br />thus requiring a 3/4ths majority vote of the Council to approve the zoning change.
<br />Mayor Craddock noted that this information had not been publicly stated and that
<br />the vote on a motion to adopt the ordinance (four votes in favor, three votes opposed) I
<br />had not been sufficient to change the zoning. J.B. Roberts came before the Council
<br />on behalf of the applicants, Mr. & Mrs. George Childress, to ask the Council
<br />consider designating "C-2" areas.

<br />1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF 2.74 ACRES IN THE J .M. VERAMENDI
<br />LEAGUE NUMBER TWO, LOCATED AT 1233 I.H. 35 NORTH, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL)
<br />TO "C-2" (COMMKRCIAL).

<br />Mr. Cavazos moved the Ordinance be adopted. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion,
<br />which passed unanimously.
<br />
<br />The City Manager reported that the Public Utilities Commission had heard an appeal
<br />from LCRA of the rates recently approved by the Council, and had left those rates
<br />in effect for the present. Mr. Baugh also informed the Council that a March 1 eviden-
<br />tiary hearing had been scheduled on the matter by the Commission.
