<br />176 <br />regular meeting, february 14, 1977 <br /> <br />p~e two <br /> <br />The Mayor read an Ordinance having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING THE PRICE AND TERMS OF THE SALE BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />~rEXAS, OF PART OF PARCEL NO. 10-1, DESCRIBED FURTHER ON EXHIBIT "A" <br />ATTACHED HERETO, LOCATED WITHIN THE TEX. A-6, NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT <br />PROGRAM AREA, TO DAVID" B. HENNINGTON, AUTHORIZ .ING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE <br />A WARRANTY DEED TO DAVID B. HENNINGTON. ." <br /> <br />Mr. Jlunes moved the Ordinance not be approved on the basis of tne proposed use <br />being inconsistent with the present zoning classification. Mr. Errefiando seconded <br />the motion. Mr. B.reihan stated that he felt the classification of light industrial, I <br />the proposed use; was restrictive enough to protect the area.iR iihiiil; "11 Mle1f8<t''Ilales <br />only; and further, that more restrictions could and should be placed on the property <br />by the city. Mr. Breihan moved the base <br />material be purchased from Brauntex Materials, Inc. of New Braunfe1s for $1.95 per <br />ton, delivered. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved the curb and gutter be awarded to Phoenix Concrete Construction <br />Company, Inc. of Austin in the amount of $3.15 per linear foot. Mr. James seconded <br />the mo"tion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Arredondo moved the asphalt be purchased from Capital Aggregate, Inc. of Austin <br />for $11. 55 per ton, delivered. Mr.: Hansen seconded the motion, which pas.sed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />Al~HORIZING THE CREATION, ORGANIZATION OR REORGANIZATION OF A <br />NON-PROFIT CORPORATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING STUDENT LOAN NOTES; I <br />MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH; APPOINTING A BOARD <br />OF' DIRECTORS; SPECIFYING TERMS OF OFFICE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. Hansen seconded the mition. <br />Mr. Arredondo moved the Resolution be amended to provide for the appointment <br />of the following persons as DireaPrs: Walter Burnett, Tom Haley, Bruce Harper, <br />Patty Sullivan, Ernest Morgan, Lee Smith, Robert Thornton,.Herbert Yarbrough, <br />Soi1a Rodriguez and Guadalupe Carbajal, and Hollis Smith as non-voting advisor. <br />Mr. Breihan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The motion to adopt <br />the Resolution, as amended, was unanimously approved. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE FOR PRECINCT #30 FOR THE REGULAR CITY <br />OF}'ICERS' ELECTION TO BE HELD APRIL 2, 1977. <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved the Resolution naming Virginia C. O'Bryant as Presiding Judge <br />be adopted. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A HESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH THE HAYS COUNTY MEMORIAL HOPSITAL CORPORATION <br />FOR AMBULANCE SERVICE AND CHARGES THEREFOR TO BE EFFECTIVE UNTIL <br />SEPTEMBER 30, 1977, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />TO EXECUTE SAME IN AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Sutton moved the Resolution be adopted.
