<br />206 <br />regular meeting, march 21, 1977 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE <br />ESTABLISHMENT OF THE TULA TOWNSEND WYATT COLLECTION OF LOCAL HISTORY <br />MATERIALS TO BE HOUSED WITHIN THE SAN MARCOS PUBLIC LIBRARY. <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. James seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously'. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING THE SOUTHSIDE COMMUNITY CENTER TO APPLY FOR A CONTINUATION <br />GEANT APPLICATION FOE THIRD YEAR FUNDING FOR THE SAN MARCOS YOUTH SERVICES <br />BUREAU. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The MaJ'or read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AGREEl!NG <br />TO GIVE FULL CONSIDERATION TO FUNDING THE OPERATION OF THE SAN MARCOS YOUTH <br />S,~VICE BUREAU BEYOND MAY 31, 1978. <br /> <br />The City Manager explained that the Resolution was not intended to serve as a <br />budget~~y commitment. Mr. Sutton- moved adoption of the Resolution. Mr. Hansen <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayon introduced for consideration bids received for a diesel powered industrial <br />tractor (see bid sheet attached). Mr. Breihan moved the tractor be purchased from <br />Jim Winn Works, Wimberley, for $5673.00, the base bid plus a dGwudraft exhaust bid <br />as an alternate item. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF:THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br />SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND <br />USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF 1. 406 ACRES OUT OF THE J .M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NUMBER TWO, <br />LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF SESSOM DRIVE AND ED J.L. GREEN DRIVE, FROM "c" <br />CCOMMERCIAL J TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr~ Breihan moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. James seconded <br />the motion. The City Manager reported that he had met with Mr. Phillips regarding <br />the parking problems discussed at the February 28,mcej:ing and that a site plan had <br />been prepared indicating proposed parking and approved by the ~blic Works department. <br />Mr. Arredondo again asked Mr. Phillips if the building were to be used as a dance hall. <br />Mr. Phillips assured Mr. Arredondo the building was to be used as primarily a restaurant. <br />On roll call, the motion to approve the Ordinance on second reading was unanimously <br />approved. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, FIXING <br />RENTAL FEES TO BE PAID AND CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS TO BE MET BY THE <br />LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF CONTINUING TO ENTER UPON <br />AND USE THE STREETS, ALLEYS AND PUBLIC GROUNDS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,FOR <br />THE PURPOSE OF DISTRIBUTING ELECTRIC POWER AND ENERGY FOR LIGHTS, HEAT AND <br />POWER TO THE CITY AND ITS INHABITANTS; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION; AND <br />PROYIDING FOR A SAYINGS CLAUSE. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading.
