Ramirez; Lorenzo Mojica; <br />Michael Felix; Joe Rodriguez; Calvin Thomas; Gordon Thompson; <br />Melissa Mi11ecam; Jerri Martin; Terry Roberts; Gary Bond; Larry <br />Carlson; and others. <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock issued Certificates of Competency for Heavy Equipment Operator to <br />four city employees: Lorenzo Mojica, Michael Felix, Joe Rodriguez and Calvin ~~homas. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock next issued a proG:1amation in observance of Industrial Week in San Marcos. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held March 21, 1977 were approved on motion of <br />Mr. James and second of Mr. Hansen. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for a change in the zoning <br />of Lots 316 through 321 and 381 through 384 of Block 15 of the Westover Addition <br />from "R-1" to "P-l". Kathleen Morris, representative of Scheib Opportunity Center, <br />was present to request the change on behalf of the applicant. There were no objections <br />presented to the zoning change. The Mayor closed the hearing and read an ordinance <br />having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAt'l MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br />SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND <br />USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 316 THFOUGH 321 AND 381 THROUGH 384 OF BLOCK 15 <br />OF THE WESTOVER ADDITION, LOCATED ON THAT BLOCK BOUNDED BY EARLE, ALLEN, DELMAR <br />AND BISHOP STREETS, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "P-l" (PUBLIC). <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. Cavazos seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously, <br /> <br />Mayor Craddock opened a public hearing to consider a request for a readjustment of the <br />city boundary by excluding some 5.5 acres of land located on Ranch Road 12, said <br />property being presently owned by Mr. H.H. Hageman, who was present. Stanley Sissom, <br />Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission, advised the Council that theoommissionl <br />recommended leaving the property in the city. He further stated that the comnission wa' <br />planning to reexamine the zoning in the area with a view of approving more commercial <br />zoning to encourage and allow commercial development. No other opposition was presentd <br />The Mayor closed the hearing and read the caption of a Resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING TIlE CITY ATTORNEY OF SAID CITY TO PREPARE AN ORDINANCE <br />FOR FIRST READING BY THE COUNCIL ON THE 11TH DAY OF APRIL, 1977, SAID <br />ORDINANCE TO READJUST THE CITY BOUNDARY BY EXCLUDING SOME 5.5 ACRES OF <br />LAND LOCATED ON RANCH ROAD 12, SAID PROPERTY BEING PRESENTLY OWNED BY <br />MR. H. H. HAGEMAN. <br /> <br />Mr. Breihan moved the Resolution be adopted. Mr. Sutton seconded the motion. On <br />
