Yarbrough, Melissa Millecam, Ron Carnes, and others. <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7: 30 p.m. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Re;JUlar Meeting held August 1 and the Special Meeting held <br />July.-31 were approved on IIDtion of Mr. Hansen and second of Mr. James. .:>u e.~ <br />-.__p~/~fi,~tI'" <br />Dr. Craddock rroved approval of the allocation of approximately five hundred and ~ <br />ten dollars for interviEW expenses for City Manager applicants, approximately <br />one thousand dollars for moving and travel expenses for the nEW City Manager, <br />nine hundred fifty dollars in fees for the NIMLO Federal Unemployment Compensation <br />Tax Litigation and ninety dollars for the purchase of a bail Ixmd book for <br />Municipal Court, totaling- approximately two thousand.ofive hundred fifty dollars <br />($2,550.00) fran the general contingency fund. Mr. Hansen seconded the IIDtion <br />which passed unaninously. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock IIDVed that the certified tax roll be received bY the Board of Equalizaul <br />Mr. Hansen seconded the IIDtion. The Mayor read the certificate, a copy of which <br />is made a r:art of these minutes. On roll call the IIDtion to receive the certificate <br />was P'issed unanirrously. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a public hearing on allocations for Revenue ShariUg Entitlement <br />Period #9. Mr. Sierra sUllTl1arized recomrendations which had been made on the <br />allocation. His sumrary is attached and made a part of these minutes. Co\mcilm3n <br />James requested the Council give serious consideration to the purchase of property <br />for a new fire sub-station. Councilman Breihan encouraged the Council to <br />consider purchasing equipnent to IIDre efficiently rerove brush. Mr. Breihan <br />also requested IIDre specific information on the Legal Aid Program administered by <br />the Conrnunity Action Agency. Present for that discussion were Mrs. Margie <br />Villalpando and Legal Aid Attorney Tom Gardner. By ccmron consent the Colll1cil <br />recomrrended that a partion of Revenue Sharing Entitlanent #9 funds be set aside <br />for drying beds for the cities wastEWater facilities. No action was teken on the <br />propased budget; the final budget hearing is scheduled for September 12. <br />Mr. Gene Gardner of the Public Works Department came before the Council to <br />explain that the temparary and part-tilre services of a professional engineer <br />were needed to certify engineering work done by the department. Dr. Craddock <br />IIDved the staff proceed to locate an engineering canpany to provide these <br />services, subject to further approval by the City Council. Mr. Breihan seconded <br />the IIDtion which passed unanirrously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a discussion on the =ent policy of extending water <br />services outside the city l:iro:its. Mr. Arredondo stated the existing policy <br />established in 1962 which was a prohibition against the sale of water to service <br />property outside the city l:iro:its except for that service which had been approved <br />prior to the establishment of thepolicy.
