I <br /> <br />AND AIR CONDITIONING CODE AND UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, <br />PROVIDED FOR A HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING INSPECTOR, <br />CREATED AN EXAMINING AND SUPERVISING BOARD OF HEATING <br />AND AIR CONDITIONING CONTRACTORS, PROVIDED FOR THE <br />LICENSING OF HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING CONTRACTORS <br />AND INSTALLERS, REQUIRED PERMITS, PROVIDED FOR LICENSING <br />FEES AND PERMITS FEES, PROVIDED A PENALTY, ETC., BY <br />ADDING THE DEFINITION OF THE TERM "APPRENTICE" INCREASING <br />LICENSING AND PERMIT FEES; BY ESTABLISHING NEW LICENSE <br />FEES FOR THE MAINTENANCE HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING <br />LICENSE, RESTRICTED, AND FOR THE APPRENTICE; BY ESTABLISH- <br />ING NEW PERMIT FEES FOR CERTAIN HEATING AND AIR CONDITION- <br />ING WORK; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. James <br />seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was .recorded: <br /> <br />Aye: Breihan, Cavazos, Craddock, Arredondo, James, and <br />Sutton. <br />Nay: None <br />Abstain: Hansen <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for discussion plans for the extension of Cheatham Street. <br />Mr. Webster informed the Council that the staff did not yet have a firm re- <br />commendation on the extension of Cheatham Street. Several\al~ernative routes <br />for the proposed street extension were discussed by the. Council. . . The City <br />Manager stated he would have a firm recommendation within the next few weeks. <br /> <br />The Mayor read an Ordinance having the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE PRICE AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE <br />SALE BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OF PART OF PARCEL <br />NO. 10-lA, DESCRIBED FURTHER ON EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED HERETO, <br />LOCATED WITHIN THE TEX. ~-6, NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT <br />PROGRAM AREA, TO GAYLE MYATT, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />EXECUTE A WARRANTY DEED TO GAYLE MYATT. <br /> <br />Mr. Albert Sierra informed the Council that the bid was in: excess of' 'the <br />minimum bid but pointed out that the sale of the most valuable portion of the <br />entire tract might lessen the worth of the rest of the property. Mr. Breihan <br />moved the Ordinance not be approved. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read an Ordinance having the following caption: I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF I SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 26 OF THE SAN ~lARCOS <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES, ENTITLED "HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX", WHICH <br />WAS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1972-20, ON JUNE 26, 1972, <br />RECORDED IN VOLUME 40, PAGE 137 OF THE MINUTES OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL, BY CHANGING THE AMOUNT OF TAX TO BE LEVIED FROM <br />3% TO 4% IN SECTION 2 (a) OF SAID ORDINANCE, AND BY PRO- <br />VIDING ADDITIONAL USES OF SAID TAX REVENUES AS SET OUT IN <br />SECTION 6 OF SAID ORDINANCE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. James <br />seconded the motion. Council discussed the tax money uses as approved by <br />the Legislature. Dr. Craddock moved to amend the Ordinance to include all <br />amendment to Section 6 (a) of the original Ordinance to permit tax monies <br />to be used for civic thxeatres and museums and that the Ordinance be approved <br />on first reading as amended. Mr. Breihan seconded the motion. The Mayor <br />read Section 6 (a) of the Ordinance in question with the. inclusion of the <br />amended material. On roll call, the motion to approve the Ordinance as <br />amended was passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, ENDORSING THE OBJECTIVES OF THE WOMEN, INFANTS, AND <br />CHILDREN (WI C) PROGRAM EXPRESSING A DESIRE TO ASSUME <br />FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROL OF THE LOCAL WIC PROGRAM. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved the resolution be adopted. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion. <br />
