A clear consensus was not reached <br />on other items which include improvements to Mill Street, Patton Street, <br />drainage improvements on Barber Drive, and a study of street and drainage <br />improvements in the Victory Gardens 1 and 2 area. Mr. Cavazos moved to <br />allocate $280,000. for improvements to Patton Street. The Mayor seconded <br />the motion. Housing $800,000. <br />2. Wastewater system improvement $100,000. <br />3. land for fire substation $20,000. <br />4. Bishop Street improvements $750,000. <br />5. Drainage culvert under Riverside Drive $25,000. <br />6. L.B.J. Street improvements in Central Business District $60,000. <br />7. Patton Street improvements $287,000. <br />8. Street and drainage improvements study in Victory Gardens 1 and 2 <br />$40,000. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOllITION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION <br />FOR CCMlUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FOR ACTION YEAR IV PUP-SUANT <br />TO THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos moved the resolution be adopted. Mr. Hansen seconded the <br />motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved to authorize the purchase of a compacter for the sanitary <br />landfill from Anderson Machinery Co. in the amount of $68,177., net price. <br />Mr. Hansen seconded the motion. Questioned by Council member Breihan, <br />Mr. Herrin told the Council the machinery had a self cleaning apparatus to <br />deal with the clay soil. On roll call, the motion to approve authorization <br />of the expenditure was unanimously approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved to cancel the meetings regularly scheduled for Monday, <br />December 26 and Monday, January 2, both days observed as holidays by the <br />City. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro Tem read the caption of'a resolution as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOllITION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE PROVISIONS OF STATE DEPARTMENT OF <br />HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION MINUTE ORDER NUMBER <br />73441 AS PASSED ON SEPTEMBER 29, 1977, WHICH ORDER PROVIDES <br />FOR A PROPOSED FARM TO MARKEI' HIGHWAY EXTENDING FROM FARM <br />TO MARKEI' ROAD 2439, 1. 6 MILES SOUTHWEST OF RANCH TO MARKEI' <br />ROAD 12, SOUTHEAST TO STATE HIGHWAY 123, SOUTH OF SAN MARCOS, <br />A DISTANCE OF APPROXIMATELY 1. 9 MILES. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved the resolution be adopted. Mr. Cavazos seconded the <br />motion.
