<br />regular meeting, march 12, 1973 page two <br /> <br />Councilman Cunningham moved the Ordinance be passed and <br />approved on third and final reading. Dr. Tauch seconded <br />the motion, and on roll call, the following vote was <br />recorded; <br /> <br />AYE: Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Etheredge, Flores, King, <br />Tauch, Yarbrough <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE <br />WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE <br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 <br />(VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 13, 14, 15, <br />16, AND 17 IN THE COERS SECOND ADDITION, FROM "R-l" <br />(SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "D" (MULTIFAMILY). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an Ordinance and read the caption as <br />follows; <br /> <br />Mr. Etheredge moved the Ordinance be approved on third and <br />final reading. Mr. King seconded the motion. On roll call, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Cunn~ngham, DeLa Rosa, Etheredge, Flores, King, <br />Tauch, Yarbrough <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />The Mayor stated that a Resolution had been proposed by <br />Councilman Cunningham resolving that the Council request the <br />Texas Legislature enact legislation removing the criminal <br />penalties for possession or marijuana. Mr. Cunningham read <br />the Resolution and moved its approval. It is attached as a <br />part of these Minutes. Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion. <br />Councilmen discussed the Resolution and the marijuana problem <br />at length. Mr. Yarbrough suggested a committee of citizens in <br />the community be formed to review existing laws and possible <br />alternatives. Councilman Cunningham, stating that such a <br />committee would be acceptable, withdrew his motion with consent <br />of the seconder. Mr. Etheredge moved to authorize the Mayor to <br />appoint a committee composed of two councilmen and ten citizens <br />to study the problem. Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. The Mayor appointed Councilmen cunningham <br />and Tauch to represent the Council on the committee. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an application for a permit to operate <br />pool or billiard tables to be located at 153 S. LBJ Drive. <br />Since the applicants were not present, Mr. Etheredge moved to <br />table the application. Mr. King seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough moved to appoint Edwin Mutschlechner and <br />Ray Harris to the Examining and Supervising Board of Electricians. <br />Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion, whicn passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough nominated Mrs. George B. Taack, jr. to fill <br />a position on the Senior Citizens Advisory Board. Mr. Etheredge <br />moved to appoint Mrs. George B. Taack, Jr.l Mr. King seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough proposed the name of Ben McCollum for the <br />Board of Equalization. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Etheredge requested information be obtained concerning <br />appointment of the representative at-large to the Capital Area <br />Planning Council. <br /> <br />L <br />
