Molina; Scott Phillips; Dr. & Mrs. Pat Norwood; Ruth Thomas; Mrs. James Moore; Jerri Martin; Derek Aldridge; Melissa Millecam The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The Invocation was given by Mr. Jerry Moore. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held May 29 were presented for approval. Dr. Tauch requested a correction of the vote shown on page 2, line 10, to indicate his vote as "Aye". Mr. DeLa Rosa moved the Minutes be approved as amended. Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change of zoning of Lots 37, 38 and 39 in the Millview Addition, from "c" to "C-2". Mrs. Rosa Lee Johnson, applicant, was present to request the change. W.L. Deck presented a petition signed by 19 residents in the area who objected to the change. The Mayor declared the Public Hearing closed and read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 37, 38 AND 39 IN THE MILLVIEW ADDITION, LOCATED ON EASTWOOD STREET AND LOOP 82, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). Mr. Cunnin~hammoved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. DeLa Rosa seconded the motion. Mr. DeLa Rosa said that the location on a major thoroughfare was the place for businesses. Dr. Tauch stated there were several businesses in the area with similar operations. The Acting City Manager explained that the petition presented in objection to the change contained the signatures of 20% of the property owners within 200 feet of the location in question. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Etheredge, Flores, King, Tauch NAY: Dibrell The Mayor declared the Ordinance passed on first reading.
