<br />~f() <br /> <br />regular meeting, june 11, 1973 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for <br />a change in zoning of one-half of Lot 18 and all of Lot 19, <br />Block 1 in the Forest Hills Addition, from "R-l" to "R-2". <br />W.H. Hamilton, applicant, was not present. Charles Suckle <br />came before the Council with a petition signed by 6 property <br />owners within 200 feet of the location in question. Mr. Suckle <br />stated that 85% of the lots were covered by buildings, that <br />there was not room for adequate parking, that the traffic <br />situation was critical without additional traffic, and that <br />Mr. Hamilton was in violation of the clean lot and "R-l" zoning <br />ordinances. There was no one present to speak in favor of I <br />the change. The Mayor closed the Public Hearing and read the <br />caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF THE NORTHEAST ONE-HALF OF LOT 18 <br />AND LOT 19, BLOCK 1 IN THE FOREST HILLS ADDITION, LOCATED <br />AT 918 NORTH L.B.J. DRIVE AND 202 WALNUT STREET, FROM <br />"R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "R-2" (DUPLEX). <br /> <br />Mr. King moved the Ordinance not be approved. Mr. Dibrell <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a request for a permit to temporarily <br />locate a mobile home on Lots 23 and 24 of the Westover Addition, <br />located on the corner of Clyde and Dartmouth streets. Scott <br />Phillips, applicant, was present to request the permit. <br />Dr. Tauch moved the request be granted. Mr. King seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, I <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 8 AND 9 IN BLOCK 4 OF THE <br />MOUNTAIN CITY ADDITION, AND LOTS FRONTING ON VISTA <br />STREET OUT OF THE J.J. CHAMBERS SURVEY OWNED BY BILLY RAY <br />BRUNSON AND WAYNE O. CURE, FROM "R-2" (PUBLIC USE) TO <br />"D" (MULTIFAMILY). <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. <br />Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE DEDICATING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY, TITLE TO <br />WHICH IS PRESENTLY VESTED IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />FOR PARK AND RECREATIONAL RELATED ACTIVITIES. <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. <br />Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH <br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, <br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY <br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF THE NORTH 1/3 OF LOT 3, BLOCK 13 I <br />OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF SAN MARCOS, LOCATED AT 130 SOUTH <br />L.B.J. DRIVE, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Mr. King moved the Ordinance be approved on third reading. <br />Mr. DeLa Rosa seconded the motion.
