~f() regular meeting, june 11, 1973 page two The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change in zoning of one-half of Lot 18 and all of Lot 19, Block 1 in the Forest Hills Addition, from "R-l" to "R-2". W.H. Hamilton, applicant, was not present. Charles Suckle came before the Council with a petition signed by 6 property owners within 200 feet of the location in question. Mr. Suckle stated that 85% of the lots were covered by buildings, that there was not room for adequate parking, that the traffic situation was critical without additional traffic, and that Mr. Hamilton was in violation of the clean lot and "R-l" zoning ordinances. There was no one present to speak in favor of I the change. The Mayor closed the Public Hearing and read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF THE NORTHEAST ONE-HALF OF LOT 18 AND LOT 19, BLOCK 1 IN THE FOREST HILLS ADDITION, LOCATED AT 918 NORTH L.B.J. DRIVE AND 202 WALNUT STREET, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "R-2" (DUPLEX). Mr. King moved the Ordinance not be approved. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced a request for a permit to temporarily locate a mobile home on Lots 23 and 24 of the Westover Addition, located on the corner of Clyde and Dartmouth streets. Scott Phillips, applicant, was present to request the permit. Dr. Tauch moved the request be granted. Mr. King seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, I STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 8 AND 9 IN BLOCK 4 OF THE MOUNTAIN CITY ADDITION, AND LOTS FRONTING ON VISTA STREET OUT OF THE J.J. CHAMBERS SURVEY OWNED BY BILLY RAY BRUNSON AND WAYNE O. CURE, FROM "R-2" (PUBLIC USE) TO "D" (MULTIFAMILY). Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE DEDICATING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY, TITLE TO WHICH IS PRESENTLY VESTED IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, FOR PARK AND RECREATIONAL RELATED ACTIVITIES. Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF THE NORTH 1/3 OF LOT 3, BLOCK 13 I OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF SAN MARCOS, LOCATED AT 130 SOUTH L.B.J. DRIVE, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). Mr. King moved the Ordinance be approved on third reading. Mr. DeLa Rosa seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Dibrell, Etheredge, Flores, King, Tauch NAY: None The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. 1_ __
