Mr. Dela Rosa seconded the motion. On roll call, <br />the final vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Dibrell, Etheredge, Flores, <br />King, Tauch <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />Mr. Etheredge announced that only one bid had been received <br />for construction of a shop facility; that being from Quality <br />Steel Builders, Inc., of Seguin. ~r. Baugh explained that no <br />effort had been made to obtain other bids after the opening on <br />May 22 because steel and concrete prices had increased since <br />then; therefore, it was the recommendation of City staff that <br />the Council accept the bid. Mr. Flores moved the contract for <br />construction of the shop be awarded to Quality Steel Builders, <br />Inc., for $7,769.00. Mr. King seconded the motion which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Baugh stated that two bids had been received for construction <br />of t~ foundation for the shop: one from G.A. Schulle for <br />$2,862.46 and from Quality Steel Builders, Inc., $3,480.00. <br />Dr. Tauch moved the contract be awarded to G.A. Schulle for the <br />lowest and best bid. The motion was seconded by Mr. Flores, <br />and passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration the results of bidding on <br />the Rio Vista Swimming Pool. (see bid sheet attached) Mr. Baugh <br />explained the lowest bid was received from Seaside Pools of <br />Mesquite, Texas, who submitted a base bid of $279,000 with <br />deductive alternates totaling $36,200. Mr. King moved the bid <br />be accepted and the contract awarded to Seaside Pools, excluding <br />all alternates except the stucco for the outside of the building, <br />wading pool, and coin operated lockers, making the total amount <br />$253,800. The motion was seconded by Mr. Flores and passed <br />unanimously. Mr. Cunningham extended his appreciation to the <br />Mayor and Acting City Manager for their efforts in securing the <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development grant for construction <br />of the pool facility. I~r. OeLa Rosa moved the City Manager be <br />authorized to execute the contract with Seaside Pools. Mr. King <br />seconded tffimotion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch moved approval of the purchase of a ! ton pick-up <br />truck from Younger Motors for $2,289.85, for ~se by the Engineering <br />Department. (see bid sheet attached) Mr. King seconded the <br />motion. Mr. Baugh explained the purchase would be made with <br />general revenue sharing funds designated for street improvements <br />since the majority of work involving the vehicle would be the <br />inspection of street construction. On roll call, the motion was <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />I <br />
