1j (1;- regular meeting, august 13, 1973 page two AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 112 AND 113 IN THE PARK ADDITION, LOCATED AT 828 CHESTNUT 'STREET, FROM "R-I" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "c" (COMMERCIAL). Mr. DeLa Rosa moved the Ordinance not be approved. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: ABSTAIN: DeLa Rosa, Dibrell, Etheredge Cunningham, King, Tauch Flores I Tbe Mayor declared the motion failed and the Ordinance not approved. Tbe Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider an ordinance amending the General Zoning Ordinance by revising Section 15 entitled "Land Coverage". Mayor Etheredge explained the purpose of the ordinance was to increase the lot size requirements for duplexes. No objections were made to the ordinance. The Mayor closed the Public Hearing and read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENIDNG THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, BY SUBSTITUTING FOR THE PRESENT SECTION IS OF THE GENERAL ZONING ORDINANCE (APPENDIX "A" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS), A REVISED AND AMENDED SECTION UNDER THE SAME NUMBER AND DESIGNATION, NAMELY, "LAND COVERAGE". Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor introduced a request for a permit to temporarily locate a mobile home in Block 26 of the Westover Addition at the corner of Hazleton and Dartmouth streets. It was noted that the Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended approval. Mr. Flores moved to table the request since the applicants, Nickolas L. Gomez and Martin Torres, were not present. The motion died for lack of a second. Mr. King moved the permit be granted. Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. I Mayor Etheredge read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE \ntICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOT 114 IN THE PARK ADDITION, LOCATED AT 817 CHESTNUT STREET, FROM "D" (MULTIFAMILY) TO "c" (COMMERCIAL). Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Etheredge read the caption of an ordinance as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF PART OF LOT 8, BLOCK 23 OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF SAN MARCOS, LOCATED AT 300 NORTH L.B.J. DRIVE, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). Mr. Flores moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. DeLa Rosa seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: I AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDING~, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF TWO TRACTS OF LAND OUT OF J.M. VERAMENDI LEAGUES NO. I AND 2, LOTS 1 THROUGH 7 OF BLOCK 1, LOTS 1 THROUGH 6 OF BLOCK 3, AND LOTS 1 THROUGH 4 OF BLOCK 4 OF THE FAIRLAWN ADDITION, AND ALL OF THE W.P. DONALDSON SUBDIVISION, LOCATED NEAR I.H. 35, FROM "R-I" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "c" (COMMERCIAL). Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
