<br />1j <br />(1;- <br /> <br />regular meeting, august 13, 1973 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND <br />LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF <br />LOTS 112 AND 113 IN THE PARK ADDITION, LOCATED AT 828 CHESTNUT <br />'STREET, FROM "R-I" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "c" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Mr. DeLa Rosa moved the Ordinance not be approved. Mr. Dibrell seconded <br />the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />DeLa Rosa, Dibrell, Etheredge <br />Cunningham, King, Tauch <br />Flores <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Tbe Mayor declared the motion failed and the Ordinance not approved. <br /> <br />Tbe Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider an ordinance amending <br />the General Zoning Ordinance by revising Section 15 entitled "Land <br />Coverage". Mayor Etheredge explained the purpose of the ordinance was <br />to increase the lot size requirements for duplexes. No objections were <br />made to the ordinance. The Mayor closed the Public Hearing and read <br />the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENIDNG THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, BY SUBSTITUTING FOR THE PRESENT SECTION IS <br />OF THE GENERAL ZONING ORDINANCE (APPENDIX "A" OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS), A REVISED AND AMENDED <br />SECTION UNDER THE SAME NUMBER AND DESIGNATION, NAMELY, "LAND COVERAGE". <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. Flores <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a request for a permit to temporarily locate a <br />mobile home in Block 26 of the Westover Addition at the corner of <br />Hazleton and Dartmouth streets. It was noted that the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission had recommended approval. Mr. Flores moved to table <br />the request since the applicants, Nickolas L. Gomez and Martin Torres, <br />were not present. The motion died for lack of a second. Mr. King <br />moved the permit be granted. Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Etheredge read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE \ntICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND <br />LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOT 114 <br />IN THE PARK ADDITION, LOCATED AT 817 CHESTNUT STREET, FROM "D" <br />(MULTIFAMILY) TO "c" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Cunningham <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Etheredge read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND <br />LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF PART <br />OF LOT 8, BLOCK 23 OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF SAN MARCOS, LOCATED AT <br />300 NORTH L.B.J. DRIVE, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Mr. Flores moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. DeLa Rosa <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDING~, STRUCTURES AND <br />LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF TWO <br />TRACTS OF LAND OUT OF J.M. VERAMENDI LEAGUES NO. I AND 2, LOTS 1 <br />THROUGH 7 OF BLOCK 1, LOTS 1 THROUGH 6 OF BLOCK 3, AND LOTS 1 THROUGH 4 <br />OF BLOCK 4 OF THE FAIRLAWN ADDITION, AND ALL OF THE W.P. DONALDSON <br />SUBDIVISION, LOCATED NEAR I.H. 35, FROM "R-I" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) <br />TO "c" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. Dibrell <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
