Ault; C.E, Doyle; Bob Barton; Derek Aldridge <br /> <br />The Mayor ealled the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the August 13 Regular Meeting were approved on motion of <br />Couneilman DeLa Rosa and seeond of Couneilman Flores. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the August 20 Speeial Meeting were approved on motion of <br />Councilman DeLa Rosa and seeond of Couneilman Tauch. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a ehange in <br />zoning of 2.88 acres of land out of the T.J. Chambers Survey, located at <br />1208 L.B.J. Drive, from "R-l" to "D". Jack D. Hearn, applieant, was present <br />to request the change. Mr. Hearn stated that he had agreed to deed 15 <br />feet of right-of-way for 200 feet on L.B.J. Drive to the City. There were <br />no objections made to the change in zoning. The Mayor elosed the Pub lie' <br />Hearing and read the caption of an ordinanee as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND <br />LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF 2.88 <br />ACRES OF LAND OUT OF THE T. J. CHAMBERS SURVEY, LOCATED AT 1208 <br />L.B.J. DRIVE, FROM lOR-I" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "D" <br />(MULTIFAMILY) . <br /> <br />Mr. King moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Dr. Tauch <br />seeonded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change in <br />zoning of Lot 117 in the Park Addition, loeated at 801 Chestnut Street. <br />Charles Caffey, applicant, was present to request the change. No objections <br />were made to the change. The Mayor closed the. Publie Hearing and read <br />the caption of an ordinanee as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND <br />LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF <br />LOT 117 IN THE PARK ADDITION, LOCATED AT 801 CHESTNUT STREET, FROM <br />"c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />Mr. King moved the Ordinance be tabled until an alternative method to the <br />"C-2" zoning procedure could be studied for the regulation of establishments <br />dispensing alcoholic beverages for on premises consumption, Mr. Dibrell <br />seconded the motion. Mr. DeLa Rosa stated that he eonsidered the tabling" <br />of the ordinance unfair since the applicant had followed the procedure as <br />set forth by the Council and city staff. On roll eall, the following vote <br />was recorded, <br /> <br />AYE: Dibrell, Taueh <br />NAY: Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Etheredge, Flores, King <br />
