<br />Councilman Etheredge moved the ordinance not be approved.
<br />Mr. King, stating that the Planning and Zoning Commission had
<br />recommended denial of the request~nd t~at the area was primarily
<br />a residential area, seconded the motion, On 1"01 I call, the

<br />The Mayor declared the motion passed and the request for a change
<br />in zoning denied.

<br />Dr. Tauch requested the City staff study the ordinance creating
<br />the "C-2" zoning classification with regard to strengthening the
<br />City's contro lover estab I i shments d i spens i ng liquor, wine or beer
<br />for on-premises consumption.
<br />
<br />Mr, DeLa Rosa requested the City staff check into traffic control
<br />problems mentioned by Mrs. Farris Hunter during the Publ ic Hearing.
<br />
<br />Councilman Cunningham arrived at 7:40 p.m., therefore his vote is
<br />not reflected in the above roll calls,
<br />
<br />The Mayor reported that the Council had discussed in the Executive
<br />Session following the regular meeting on September 25, the matter
<br />of a raise in salary for the City Manager. Councilman Yarbrough
<br />moved that the Counci I approve an increase in salary for the City
<br />Manager, effective October 1, 1972, of $100 per month, subject to
<br />approval of the Wage Contro I Board, Counc i I man King seconded the
<br />motion which passed unanimously.

<br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance and read the fol lowing caption:
<br />
<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTlONJ OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH
<br />REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BU]LDINGS,
<br />STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL, 32) BY
<br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF,A 13.15 ACRE TRACT OUT OF THE J,M,
<br />VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO, TWO, FROM "R~l"(SINGLE FAMILY
<br />RESIDENTIAL) TO "M" (MIXED).

<br />Mr, Yarbrough moved the o~dinanc~ be approved on third and final
<br />reading, Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion. On roll call, the
<br />following vote was recorded:

<br />CHANGING THE ZONING OF A 1.8 ACRE TRACT OF LAND OUT OF THE
<br />T.J, CHAMBERS LEAGUE, LOCATED ON OR ABOUT 1225 NORTH L,B,J,
<br />DR]VE, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO ~D" (MULTIFAMILY).
