<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />Regu I ar Counc i 1 Meet i ng, October 24, 19'72 <br /> <br />Mrs. Johnnie Bratton appearing before the Council <br /> <br />To the Mayor and Councilmen: <br /> <br />As Chairman of the o.unbar Neighborhood Counci I, I would like <br />to say that we are here to work with you and we want to thank <br />you for accepting us on the Agenda. <br /> <br />Many questions have come up in our organization in whi~h we would <br />I ike for you to answer, <br /> <br />1, We would like to know what you think of the recommendation <br />of Dr. Emmie Craddock, stating that the construction of a <br />high rise building to be placed on the Dunbar property for the <br />purpose of housing the school administration, Commissioner's <br />Court, etc.? <br /> <br />2, Would it be possible for the City to provide busing for <br />children who I ive under two mi les from school? We hear in <br />San Angelo, Texas, that this has been done and is working <br />beaut i fu II y. <br /> <br />3. Could there be walkways bui It over the expressway for the <br />safety of children going to and from Jr. High School, High <br />School and Bowie Elementary? <br /> <br />4. We would like to know how the Quarterly Sales Taxes are <br />spent in San Marcos, <br /> <br />5. Where does our tax money go? How much is spent on streets? <br />Why can't our streets be fixed in the Dunbar Neighborhood? <br /> <br />6. Wil I someone tel I us the actual cost of fit 1 ing up holes in <br />the streets with gravel and sand and pouring oi I on top, plus <br />the cost of the workers? Would it not be feasible to build <br />one permanent street at a time, rather than patching holes <br />continuously. <br /> <br />These questions we would like to be answered tonight. <br /> <br />Thank you, <br />
