Seal; <br />Walter Ohmheiser; Lyndon Mellinger; John Finch; Marcus <br />Jackson; Ted Breihan; Bill Toler; Robert McMillian <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held February 25, 1974, were approved on <br />motion of Councilman DeLa Rosa and second of Councilman Tauch. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Special Meeting held March 4, 1974, were approved on motion <br />of Councilman Tauch and second of Councilman DeLa Rosa. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change in the <br />zoning of all of Block 9 and Lots 16 through 19 and 1/2 of Lots 20 and 21 <br />of Block 10 of the McGehee Heights Addition, from "R-l" to "R-2". Delvin <br />Simon, applicant, was not present. Mr. Eugene Morrow of 840 Loop Street <br />presented a petition signed by more than 20% of property owners living within <br />200 feet of the requested change who objected to the rezoning. The Mayor <br />closed the hearing and read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCUTRES AND LAND, <br />DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF ALL OF BLOCK 9 <br />AND LOTS 16 THROUGH 19 AND ONE-HALF OF LOTS 20 AND 21 OF BLOCK 10 <br />OF THE McGEHEE HEIGHTS ADDITION, LOCATED BETWEEN SOUTH LOOP AND HOOD <br />STREETS, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "R-2" (DUPLEX). <br /> <br />Mr. Dibrell moved the Ordinance not be approved. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion, <br />which was unanimously approved. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change in the <br />zoning of Lots 1 through 8 of Block 10 of the McGehee Heights Addition from <br />"R-l" to "R-2". John Finch, representing the applicant John Stokes, was <br />present to request the change. Mr. Eugene Morrow presented a petition signed <br />by more than 20% of adjacent property owners in objection to the change. <br />The Mayor closed the hearing and read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND <br />RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, <br />DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 1 THROUGH <br />8 OF BLOCK 10 OF THE McGEHEE HEIGHTS ADDITION, LOCATED BETWEEN SOUTH <br />LOOP AND HOOD STREETS, FROM "R-l" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO <br />"R-2" (DUPLEX). <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance not be approved. Mr. Flores seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br />
