<br />97 <br /> <br />regular meeting, march 11, 1974 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 10, ARTICLE III OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF <br />SAID CITY, "FIRE PREVENTION CODE", BY AMENDING SECTION 13.1 TO <br />INCLUDE A SUBSECTION C EXTENDING THE APPLICABILITY OF SAID SECTION <br />FOR A DISTANCE OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS FOR A TOTAL OF FIVE THOUSAND <br />FEET. <br /> <br />Mr. Dibrell moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Dr. Tauch <br />seconded the motion. Mr. DeLa Rosa stated his concern that the ordinance <br />would not solve the problems inside the city limits. On roll call, the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: Cunningham, Dibrell, Etheredge, Tauch <br />NAY: DeLa Rosa: Flores <br /> <br />Mr. Etheredge read the caption of an Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ADOPTING AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO THE URBAN <br />RENEWAL PLAN FOR N.D.P. PROJECT TEX A-6, FOURTH ACTION YEAR, AND <br />DIRECTING THAT SAID CHANGE BE FILED AS PART OF THE URBAN RENEWAL <br />PLAN FOR SAID PROJECT. <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch moved the Ordinance be approved on second reading. Mr. DeLaRosa <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING APPENDIX A, GENERAL ZONING ORDINANCE OF <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, BY <br />THE ADDITION TO SECTION 4, ENTITLED "DEFINITIONS", FOR A ''MOBILE <br />HOME PARK" AND A "MOBILE HOME": ALSO AMENDING SECTION 5.A OF <br />SAID APPENDIX ENTITLED "DISTRICTS DESIGNATED" BY ADDING THE <br />DESIGNATION OF "MHP" FOR MOBILE HOME PARKS; BY DELETING SECTION <br />15.1 AND SUBSTITUTING AN ENTIRELY NEW SECTION UNDER THE SAME <br />NUMBER ENTITLED "MOBILE HOME"; ESTABLISHING A SECTION 15.2 OF <br />SAID APPENDIX ENTITLED "TEMPORARY USE OF LAND BY MOBILE HOMES"; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Dibrell moved the Ordinance be approved on third and final reading. <br />Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced for consideration a preliminary subdivision plat <br />for a subdivision known as "Thomas Acres". The applicant, Raymond E. Thomas, <br />was not present. The City Manager reported that the plat had been <br />approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission, but that the staff approval <br />had been withdrawn due to violations of the subdivision ordinance on the <br />plat. Mr. Cunningham moved the preliminary plat not be approved. Dr. Tauch <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. Mr. B.F. Davidson recommended <br />the Council consider suspending the present subdivision ordinance until the <br />new ordinance presently being drafted was approved. Councilmen, by common <br />consent, requested the staff prepare an ordinance placing a moratorium on <br />the present subdivision ordinance until the new subdivision ordinance was <br />adopted. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a request for the re-platting of Lots 72 and 73 of <br />the A.M. Rams~y Subdivision, located along Third Street. The applicant, <br />Mrs. Faris Hunter, was not present. Mr. DeLa Rosa moved the request be <br />approved. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion. Mr. Flores objected to the <br />re-platting on the grounds that the 60 foot frontage of the smaller lot I <br />was undesirable. Councilmen discussed the matter. Mr. DeLa Rosa withdrew <br />his motion. Mr. Flores moved to table the request'. Dr. Tauch seconded <br />the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a request for the re-platting of Lots 581, 582, 567 <br />and 568 of Block 44 of the Westover Addition, located at the corner of <br />Girard and Advance Streets. (see plat attached) Mr. DeLa Rosa moved the <br />re-plat be approved. Mr. Flores seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
