101 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, MARCH 25, 1974 Present Mayor Eddy A. Etheredge Councilmen William L. Cunningham Guillermo DeLa Rosa Bill Dibrell Luciano H. Carson; John Finch; Robert McMullian; Dan Weeden; Emmie Craddock; Shirley Wickersham; Ted Breihan The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held March 11, 1974, were approved on motion of Councilman DeLa Rosa and second of Councilman Tauch. Mr. King moved a Special Meeting be held at 3:30 p.m. in the Council Room of City of the Regular City Election on April 2. motion, which passed unanimously. Wednesday, April 3, 1974, Hall to canvass the returns Mr. DeLa Rosa seconded the I The Mayor introduced ordinances closing and abandoning portions of Pegues and Ezell streets as requested by Mr. Reuben Meeks, adjacent property owner. Mr. Mullin and Mr. Pickle, owners of property north of the Meeks property came before the Council to request that the streets not be closed since they would then be denied ingress and egress to their property. Mr. Meeks agreed to dedicate another street to this use with a sewer easement. By common consent, Councilmen agreed to postpone action to the next meeting when agreements satisfying all property owners concerned could be drawn and presented to the Council. Mr. Etheredge introduced an ordinance and read its caption as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHPATER 27 OF THE SAN MARCOS CITY CODE BY REPEALING ALL PREVIOUS TAXICAB RATES OF FARE AND ENACTING A NEW SUBSECTION TO SECTION 27-5 BY ESTABLISHING A SECTION 27-5 ec) PROVIDING FOR THE AUTHORIZED RATE OF FARE OF TAXICAB PASSENGERS. Mr. King moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Dr. Tauch seconded the motion. Councilmen discussed the service with the owner, Mr. Doyle Scott, and requested he consider providing service to elderly and disabled persons at specified periods of the day for reduced rates. On roll call, the motion to approve the ordinance was unanimously approved. I Mr. Jack Bellamy, representing Raymond Thomas, came before the Council to request consideration of a revised, preliminary subdivision plat for a subdivision known as "Thomas Acres". Councilmen discussed the plat in terms of the present and proposed subdivision ordinances" Mr. Flores moved to deny approval of the plat, Mr. King seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
