Carson; John Finch; Robert McMullian; Dan Weeden; <br />Emmie Craddock; Shirley Wickersham; Ted Breihan <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting held March 11, 1974, were approved <br />on motion of Councilman DeLa Rosa and second of Councilman Tauch. <br /> <br />Mr. King moved a Special Meeting be held <br />at 3:30 p.m. in the Council Room of City <br />of the Regular City Election on April 2. <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Wednesday, April 3, 1974, <br />Hall to canvass the returns <br />Mr. DeLa Rosa seconded the <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced ordinances closing and abandoning portions of <br />Pegues and Ezell streets as requested by Mr. Reuben Meeks, adjacent <br />property owner. Mr. Mullin and Mr. Pickle, owners of property north <br />of the Meeks property came before the Council to request that the <br />streets not be closed since they would then be denied ingress and <br />egress to their property. Mr. Meeks agreed to dedicate another street <br />to this use with a sewer easement. By common consent, Councilmen <br />agreed to postpone action to the next meeting when agreements satisfying <br />all property owners concerned could be drawn and presented to the Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Etheredge introduced an ordinance and read its caption as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br />CHPATER 27 OF THE SAN MARCOS CITY CODE BY REPEALING ALL <br />PREVIOUS TAXICAB RATES OF FARE AND ENACTING A NEW SUBSECTION <br />TO SECTION 27-5 BY ESTABLISHING A SECTION 27-5 ec) <br />PROVIDING FOR THE AUTHORIZED RATE OF FARE OF TAXICAB PASSENGERS. <br /> <br />Mr. King moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Dr. Tauch <br />seconded the motion. Councilmen discussed the service with the owner, <br />Mr. Doyle Scott, and requested he consider providing service to <br />elderly and disabled persons at specified periods of the day for <br />reduced rates. On roll call, the motion to approve the ordinance <br />was unanimously approved. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Jack Bellamy, representing Raymond Thomas, came before the Council <br />to request consideration of a revised, preliminary subdivision plat <br />for a subdivision known as "Thomas Acres". Councilmen discussed the <br />plat in terms of the present and proposed subdivision ordinances" <br />Mr. Flores moved to deny approval of the plat, Mr. King seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />
