110 REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APRIL 8, 1974 Present: Mayor Eddy A. Etheredge I Councilmen William L. Cunningham Guillermo DeLa Rosa Bill Dibrell Luciana H. Malina; Mrs. Carl is Dees; Dr. Stanley Sissom; Ron Mullin; Dr. James Crawford; Gene Funk; Ken Rehler The Mayar called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. I The Minutes af the Regular Meeting held March 25, 1974 were approved on motion of Mr. King and second of Mr. DeLa Rosa. The Minutes of the Special Meeting held April 3, 1974 were approved on mation of Mr. Dibrell and second af Mr. Cunningham, with Councilmen DeLa Rosa, Flores and King abstaining due to their absence at the meeting. Mayor Etheredge then relinquished the chair to Mayor Pro-Tem Ross King. Mr. King presented a plaque to the autgoing Mayar an behalf of the Caunci1 and citizens of San Marcos in appreciation of his contributions to the community as Caunci1man and Mayor. The Oath of Office was administered to Councilwoman-elect, Emmie Craddock by the City Attarney. Mayor King apened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change in zoning of part af Lot 24 and all af Lots 25 and 26 af Block 14 of the Sunset Acres Additian Number Two, from "c" ta "C-2". Attorney J .R. Molina was present to represent the applicant, Ralph Gonzales. Gordon Harmon, Superintendent of the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District, and the Reverend Ira Irwin were present to object to the requested change an the basis of the proximity of the business to the High Schaal. The Mayor closed the hearing and read the caption af an ardinance as fo11aws: I AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF LOTS 25 AND 26 AND PART OF LOT 24 OF BLOCK 14 OF THE SUNSET ACRES ADDITION NUMBER TWO, LOCATED ALONG THE NORTHEAST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF HIGHWAY 123 AND ITS INTERSECTION WITH BROADWAY STREET, FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "C-2" '~COMMERCIAL) . Mr. DeLa Rosa maved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. Flores seconded the mation. On ra11 call, the follOWing vote was recorded: AYE: Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Craddock, Flores, Teuch NAY: Dibrell, King.
