<br />r-- <br />I <br /> <br />111 <br /> <br />regular meeting, april 8, 1974 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change <br />in zoning of 2.06 acres of the Elijah Clark Survey Number Eleven, from <br />"R-1" ta "p_2". Mrs. Corlis Dees was present to reRresent the applicant, <br />Evangelism International Inc. af Texas. There was no oppositian voiced. <br />The Mayor closed the hearing and read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTIDRES AND <br />LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF 2.06 <br />ACRES OF LAND OF THE ELIJAH SURVEY NUMBER ELEVEN, LOCATED ADJACENT <br />TO THE SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH ON RANCH ROAD 12, FROM "R-l" <br />(SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "P-2" (PUBLIC USE). <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. DeLa Rosa moved the Ordinance be approved on first reading. <br />Mr. Cunningham seconded the motion, which passed unanimaus1y. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a Public Hearing ta consider a request for a change in <br />zoning of Lats 205 through 210 and 293 through 298 of Block 7 and Lats 45 <br />through 880f Blocks 8, 9 and 10 of the Westover Addition, from "R-l" <br />to ,'TR-2". It was noted that the request was initiated by the Planning and <br />Zoning Cammission in an attempt to zone the newly annexed property for its <br />most advantageous land use. There was no oppasition voiced. The Mayor <br />closed the hearing and read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES <br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND <br />LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF <br />LOTS 205 THROUGH 210 AND 298 THROUGH 298 OF BLOCK 7 AND LOTS 45 <br />THROUGH 88 OF BLOCKS 8, 9 AND 10 OF THE WESTOVER ADDITION, LOCATED <br />BETWEEN AMHERST AND BISHOP AND CLYDE AND DELMAR STREETS, FROM !'k-l" <br />(SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "R-2" (DUPLEX). <br /> <br />Mr. DeLa Rosa moved approval of the Ordinance on first reading. <br />Mr. Cunningham seconded the mation. On raIl call, the fallowing vote <br />was recarded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Dibrell, King, Flores, Tauch <br />Nane <br />Craddock. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. King introduced a Resalution and Order calling for a Special Election <br />ta consider electian of Councilmen for Places 1, 2 and 3 and to submit a <br />proposition to consider adoption of the Firemen's and Pa1icemen's Civil <br />Service Act. Appointment of electian judges was considered as fo11aws. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock maved approval af the appointment of Mrs. J.T. Avila as <br />Presiding Judge for Precinct Number Six. Mr. DeLa Rosa seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Dr. Pat Norwood and Mr. Craig Bailes were nominated to serve as election <br />judge for Precinct Number Eight. Mr. Cunningham moved approval af the <br />appointment of Craig Bailes as Presiding Judge far that precinct. On roll <br />call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Cunningham, DeLa Rosa, Flares, Tauch <br />NAY: Dibrell, King, Craddock <br /> <br />Mr. Dibrell moved approval of the appointment of Mrs. Jack Wood as Presiding <br />Judge for Precinct Number Ten. Mr. DeLa Rosa seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimausly. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved approval af the appointment of Yancy Yarbrough as <br />Presiding Judge for Precinct Number Eleven. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved approval of the appointment of Joe Gonzales as Presiding <br />Judge for Precinct Number Twelve. Mr. Dibrell seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved approval of the appointment of Mrs. J.R. Thornton as <br />Presiding Judge for Precinct Number Thirteen. Dr. Tauch seconded the mation, <br />which passed unanimously. <br />
