The Mayo~ introduced an ordinance and read the following caption: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, CREATING THE EXAMINING AND SUPERVISING BOARD OF ELECTRICIANS AND PRESCRIBING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES; CREATING THE OFFICE OF ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR AND PRESCRIBING HIS POWERS AND DUTIES; PROVIDING FeR THE LISCENSING OF ELECTRICIANS; THE MANNER AND WAY IN WHICH CERTAIN ELECTRICAL WORK SHALL BE DONE; THE KIND AND CLASS OF MATERIAL TO BE USED IN SUCH WORK AND THE SCALE OF FEES FOR SUCH INSPECTION; REQUIRING PERMITS FOR CERTAIN KINDS OF ELECTRICAL WORK; RE- PEALING ALL ORDINANCES, OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH; AND FIXING A PENALTY OF A FINE OF NOT LESS THAN $1.00 AND NOT MORE THAN $200.00, FOR VIOLATION THEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY I Dr. Tauch mo~ed adoption of the National Electrical Code on emergency reading. Mrs. Emery seconded the motion. The City Manager explained this was the last of the Codes necessary for adoption in order to get HUD's approval of the City's Workable Program by the December 31st deadline. On roll call, the follow- ing vote was recorded: AYE: DeLa Rosa, Emery, Flores, King, Tauch, Yarbrough .NAY: None The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. Mr. King moved that the Park Bonds, in the amount of I $200,000.00, be offered for sale in January. Caption was as follows: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, BY DELETING THE PRESENT SECTION 30-4 OF SAID CODE, AND SUBSTITUTING AN EN- TIRELY NEW SECTION UNDER THE SAME NUMBER; AND PRO- VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE Mr. King seconded the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: DeLa Rosa, Emery, Flores, King, Tauch, Yarbrough NAY: None I The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. Dr. Tauch proposed that the Council set a workshop on .Priorities on Ways the City and County Could Share Expenses for Services. on January 18, the same night the ~ouncil will participate in a workshop with members of the Planning and Zoning Commission. The Council adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
