<br />regular meeting, december 27, 1971 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />Mr. Flores moved that the Council authorize the Mayor to <br />sign the Agreement with MHMR. Mrs. Emery seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayo~ introduced an ordinance and read the following <br />caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, CREATING THE EXAMINING AND SUPERVISING <br />BOARD OF ELECTRICIANS AND PRESCRIBING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES; <br />CREATING THE OFFICE OF ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR AND PRESCRIBING <br />HIS POWERS AND DUTIES; PROVIDING FeR THE LISCENSING OF <br />ELECTRICIANS; THE MANNER AND WAY IN WHICH CERTAIN ELECTRICAL <br />WORK SHALL BE DONE; THE KIND AND CLASS OF MATERIAL TO BE <br />USED IN SUCH WORK AND THE SCALE OF FEES FOR SUCH INSPECTION; <br />REQUIRING PERMITS FOR CERTAIN KINDS OF ELECTRICAL WORK; RE- <br />PEALING ALL ORDINANCES, OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />THEREWITH; AND FIXING A PENALTY OF A FINE OF NOT LESS THAN <br />$1.00 AND NOT MORE THAN $200.00, FOR VIOLATION THEREOF; <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch mo~ed adoption of the National Electrical Code on <br />emergency reading. Mrs. Emery seconded the motion. The City <br />Manager explained this was the last of the Codes necessary for <br />adoption in order to get HUD's approval of the City's Workable <br />Program by the December 31st deadline. On roll call, the follow- <br />ing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: DeLa Rosa, Emery, Flores, King, Tauch, Yarbrough <br />.NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />Mr. King moved that the Park Bonds, in the amount of I <br />$200,000.00, be offered for sale in January. Dr. Tauch second- <br />ed the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AY E: DeLa Rosa, Emery, Flores, King, T auch, Yarb-rough <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The M~yor declared the motion carr~ed. <br /> <br />~... <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch moved adoption of an ordinance on third and final <br />reading. Caption was as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, BY DELETING THE PRESENT <br />SECTION 30-4 OF SAID CODE, AND SUBSTITUTING AN EN- <br />TIRELY NEW SECTION UNDER THE SAME NUMBER; AND PRO- <br />VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />Mr. King seconded the motion and on roll call, the following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: DeLa Rosa, Emery, Flores, King, Tauch, Yarbrough <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and <br />Adopted. <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch proposed that the Council set a workshop on <br />.Priorities on Ways the City and County Could Share Expenses <br />for Services. on January 18, the same night the ~ouncil will <br />participate in a workshop with members of the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />The Council adjourned at 7:51 p.m. <br />
