<br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE
<br />WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE lOCATION AND USE
<br />OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND lAND, DATED MAY 23,
<br />1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING ON lOTS 394,
<br />395, 396, 408, 409, 410, 411, 412, 413, AND PART OF
<br />lOTS 397, 398, 399, BlOCK l7,. WESTOVER ADDITION,
<br />FROM "R-l" (SINGlE~FAMIlY R'ESIDENTIAL) TO "R-2"

<br />Mr. Etheredge moved approval of the Ordinance on second
<br />reading. Mr. King seconded the motion. On roll call, the
<br />following vote was recorded:

<br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance passed on second reading.

<br />The Mayor introduced for consideration an ordinance with

<br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE PARKS AND RECREATION
<br />BOARD; DEFINING ITS MEMBERSHIP, PURPOSES, AND
<br />FUNCTIONSI REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
<br />WITH THIS ORDINANCE; AND ESTABLISHING AN
<br />EFFECTI VE DATE

<br />Mr. King moved adoption of the Ordinance on third and
<br />final reading. Mr. Etheredge second~d the motion and
<br />on roll call, the following vote was recorded:

<br />AYE: DeLa Rosa, Emery, Etheredge, Flores, King,
<br />Yarbrough, Tauch
<br />
<br />NAY: None
<br />
<br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted.
<br />
<br />The City Manager reminded the Council that the Parks and
<br />Recreation Board should be appointed, in accordance with the
<br />new ordinance.
<br />Mr. Yarbrough said he had contacted the present Board, and all
<br />but Barton Gill would like to be reappointed. He reminded the
<br />Council that he had proposed the name of Mrs. Peggy Byas to fill
<br />the vacancy, at a previous meeting.
<br />On Mr. King's suggestion, it was agreed by common consent, that
<br />the matter would be tabled until the next Council meeting.

<br />The City Secretary displayed a City map showing the new precinct
<br />boundaries, as provided by the Commissioners Court. She pointed
<br />out that land recently annexed on Interstate 35 North had not
<br />been included in either of the adjacent voting precincts, but was
<br />shown in County Precinct 1. Mrs. Worrell reported that the County
<br />Clerk had studied the matter, when it was brought to her attention,
<br />and had advised her that the Council should designate whether
<br />persons issued a Precinct 1 Voter Registration Certificate, who
<br />live within the City limits, should vote in Precinct 8 or
<br />Precinct 14, in Municipal Elections.
<br />Councilmen studied the map, and situation of the two adjoining
<br />precincts. Mrs. Emery moved that persons issued a Precinct 1
<br />Voter,Remistration Certificate, who live within the City limits,
<br />should vote in Precinct 14, in Municipal Elections. Mr. Etheredge
<br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

<br />The Council adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
