<br />regular meeting, february 28, 1972 <br /> <br />page five <br /> <br />Mr. King asked that an annexation ordinance tabled at the <br />previous meeting be reconsidered. <br />The Mayor read the following caption: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAIN 'TERRITORY"AbJOINING <br />THE CITY lIMITS OF THE SITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br />INTO SAID CITY <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager identified the property <br />tract owned by A,D. Adcock, louis Keller <br />Wickersham, and stated that the required <br />been provided, a stip~wation of approval <br />petition. ' <br />Mr. King moved th~t the three tracts totaling 1.86 acres be <br />annexed on an emergency basis. Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion. <br />Mr. Dela Rosa raised a question about annexing the land on an emerg- <br />ency basis. The reasons were explained and discussed. On roll <br />call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />as thel.86-acre <br />ahd Shirley Adcock <br />right-of-way had now <br />of the annexation <br /> <br />AYE: Etheredge, Flores, King, Tauch, Yarbrough <br />NAY: Dela Rosa, Emery <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the ordin~~b~ P~ss~di;A~p~oved ~nd Adopted, <br />po. a 5 to 2 vote. The Ordinance, with petition att~ched, is <br />made a part of the Minutes. <br /> <br />Henry C. Kyle came before the Council to protest the manner 10. <br />which the City Council handles financial:~ffairs. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />David P. Martinez came before the Council to request that an <br />alley between Grove and Cheatham be opened. He said opening the <br />alley would reduce traffic on Grove Street, which is used as a <br />play area by many children. The Mayor said the request would <br />be referred to the land Committee. <br /> <br />Art Ables, representing Balcones Real Estate Company, came before <br />the Council to request permission for Crystal Clear Water District <br />to run a line on a City easement along IH 35, South, in order to <br />service outside-the-City-limits property, described as lots 24 & <br />25, Municipal Airport Subdivision. Mr. King suggested that this <br />be discussed at a March 3 workshop. <br /> <br />Dr. Tauch suggested that, before any property is zoned "R-2" in <br />the future, the zoning ordinance be amended to require that any <br />duplex built within the City limits be required to have a minimum <br />lot of 75 X 120 feet. He said the size of the lot should be de- <br />termined by the administration at the time of the amendment. <br /> <br />Common consent was given to the suggestion, and the City Secretary <br />was instructed not to prepare any ordinances changing the zoning <br />from nR_l" to nR_2" until the matter was decided. <br /> <br />The Council adjourned at 9:20 p.m. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />til <br /> <br />rough, jr. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />~*~~ <br /> <br />City Secretary <br />
