<br />Cl <br /> <br />regular meeting, march 13, 1972 <br /> <br />page four <br /> <br />The Mayor. introduced a Resolution commending Congressman <br />J.J. Pickle for his efforts to get Cloptin Crossing Reservoir <br />funded by Congress. Mr. King moved approval of the Resolution. <br />Mrs. Emery seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. A <br />copy is attached as a part of the Minutes. <br /> <br />The Mayor said he wanted to confirm Dr, Tauch's appointment <br />as Chairman of Airport Facilities. Mr. Yarbrough reported <br />that Dr. Tauch and the City Manage~ had made a review of the <br />physical property, and were prepar~dg a recommendation to <br />the Council. The Mayor said he. was hopeful that the facilities <br />could be improved so that adequate servic~ could be given the <br />public. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager presented a recap of bids received for oil <br />and gasoline, See attached. Mr, DeLa Rosa moved that Gulf <br />Oil Corp. be awarded the premium and regular gasoline bid, <br />and Continental Oil Co. be awarded the bid for diesel fuel <br />and oil, as recommended. Mr. Flores seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Manager told the Council he had received a favorable <br />ruling from Internal Revenue Service on retroactive payment <br />of merit raises to, City employees which were frozen last Fall <br />by President Nixon. Mr. King moved Council approval of the <br />salary lost by City employees through the freeze. Mrs. Emery <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Manager said a letter had been prepared for the <br />Mayor's signature, to accompany an application to -legacy of <br />Parks" for recreational development of San Marcos' park system. <br />Mr. Gresham explained how the City's share would be financed'l <br />He said H.E. B. Foundation had made an offer of $10,000 <br />toward building a swimming pool. Mrs. Emery moved that the ~ <br />Council authorize the Mayor ~o sign the letter.
