Mr. Etheredge referred to another tract in the same area which had pre- viously been denied a "Cd classification. Mrs. Jack Weatherford, speaking as a member of the Planning adn Zoning Commission, stated that the Commission had felt the'Knights of Columbus request was different from other commercial usages. The Mayor opened a Publ ic Hearing to consider an Ordinance amend ing the Zon i ng Ord i nance to. provi de for a new "P-1" and "P~2"definition and classification. He called for discussion of the Ordinance. Mr. Gresham was requested to eXf,n a i n the need for the amendment. He discussed the present "P-l" and "P-2" usages and said that ~he point of the Ordin- ance was to designate the usage of the publ ic use land for governmental and educational agencies only. The Mayor closed the PubJic Hearing. The Mayor introduced an Ordinance with the fol lowing caption: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPENDIX A, BY DELETING SECTION 12, ENTITLED UP", PU&lIC USE, INCLUDING GOVERNMENTAL, POOLS, PARKS, SCHOOLSr ETC. DISTRICT, AND SUBSTITUTING AN ENTIRELY NEW SECTION UNDER THE SAME NUMBER AND TITLE I Mr. Yarbrough. moved the Ord i nance be approved on first reading. Mr. King seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor declared the Ordinance passed on first readi ng.' The Mayor opened a Public Hearing, to consider an Ordinance amending the Zoning Ordinance to provide a Mobile Home Park classification. He cal led for discussion. Mr. CaJvin Varner, a mobile home park owner, was recognized. He stated that he felt there were stipulations in the Ordinance which discriminated against mobile home park owners in .their compet i t i on wi thapartment cpmp I exes. I t was po i nted out that Mr. ,Varner was referpi ng to Item 9 on the agenda and that his statements would be considered during th.at discus.., sion. The Rev. ENTITLED "DEF I N I TI ONS" OF DEFI N I TI ONS FOR A "MOB I LE HOME PARK" AND A "MOBILE HOME"; ALSO AMENDING SECTION 5.A OF SAID APPENDIX ENTITLED "DISTRICTS DESIGNATED" BY ADDING THE DESIGNATION "MHP" FOR MOBILE HOME PARKS; BY DELETING SECTION 15.1 OF SAID APPENDIX ENTITLED "TEMPORARY USE OF LAND BY TRAILER HOUSES" AND SUB- STITUTING AN ENTIRELY NEW SECTION UNDER THE SAME NUMBER ENTITLED "MOBILE HOME"; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTI VE DATE I
