The Minutes of the July 24 meeting were approved as presented on motion. of Councilman Etheredge and second of Councilman Yarbrough. The Mayor opened a Publ ic Hearing to consider a request for a change in zoning on Lot E, Block 6, in the Rio Vista Terrace Addition from "R-1" to "R-2" (duplex). There was no one to sp~ak for or against.the request. The publ.ic Hearing was closed. The Mayor introduced an ordinance with the following caption: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILD) NGS, STRUCTURES AND lAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966-(VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF BLOCK 6, lOT E, RIO VISTA TERRACE, FROM "R-1" (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO "R-2" (DUPLEX) Mr. Yarbrou~h painted out that the Master PI an designated that area "R-1", and that the Planning and Zoning Commission had r~commended denial of the. request. Mr. King moved the ordinance not be approved. Dr. Tauch se~onde~ the .motion which passed unanimously. T~e Mayor declared the motion passed and the request for a change in zoning denied. I The Mayor opened a Public Hearing to consider a request for a change in zoning on the southerly half of lot 7, Block 9, Original Town of San Marcos, located at 143 S. He asked if there was anyone who wished to speak in favor of the r~quest. There was no response. He asked if there was ~nyone who wished t~ object to the change in zoning.
