He gave the budget summary and highl ighted some features of the new city budget. Mr. Yarbrough moved the publ ic hea,il)g on the 1972-1973 Budget be held at the regular meeting on September 1\, 1972, 9t 7:30 p.m., at the San Marcos Publ ic Library. Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion which pa9sed unanimously. ' The Mayor introduced an ordinance with the fol lowing caption: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING $ECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH I REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND lAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF BLOCK 36, LOTS 1,2,3 AND PART OF 4, OUT OF THE VICTORY GARDENS SECOND ADDITION AT THE CORNER OF NIMITZ AND HINES STREET, FROM "M" (MIXED) TO "C-2" (COMMERCIAL) Mr. Etheredge moved the ordinance be approved on gecond reading. Mr. King seconded the motion. 'Mr. Yarbrough restat~d his concern over granting this request for a change in zoning. Mr. Qela Rosa sa1d that this change would set a poor preced,nt by.al lowing an establishment dispensing alcoholic beverages,for on premise consumption in a residential neighborhood. It was noted that there were several commercial businesses in the area. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Cunningham, Etheredge, Flores; King, Tauch NAY: DeLa Rosa, Yarbrough The Mayor declared the motion passed and the Ordinance.apprqved I on second reading. The Mayor introduced an ordinance with the following caption: ~N ORQINANCE DEDICATING CERTA.IN REAL PROPERTY, TITLE TO WHICH IS PRESENTLY VESTED IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, FOR PARK AND RECREATIONAL PURPOSES; PROVIDING CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS TO SUCH DEDICATION; AND REPEALING AU ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH Mr. King moved the ordinance be approved on second reading." Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion which passed unanimously. The Mayor declared the ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted.
