Mr. King seconded the motion which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough moved that Bob Hyatt be appointed to the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission. Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. DeLa Rosa requested that those Councilmen nominating persons to <br />boards and committees request their nominees to come before the <br />Counci I when nominated. Mayor Flores suggested that the Counci Imen <br />provide background information on nominations. <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough commended the Mayor and City Manager on the presentation <br />made before the County Commissioner's budget hearing August 14 with <br />regard to a program of City-County participation. <br /> <br />Councilman King requested attention be given J.L. Ed Green Drive <br />with regard to "double-striping" it so that motorists would not <br />attempt to pass other vehi~les on the street. <br /> <br />The Mayor requested that two ordinances tabled on May 22, 1972, be <br />brought before the Counci I for action. He said that the 'persons <br />objecting to and requesting revision of the mobile home zoning <br />classification and mobile home park standards ordinances had not <br />contacted the City staff. Mr. King suggested that those persons <br />be notified that the ordinances would come before the Council at <br />the next regular meeting. Mr. Etheredge requested a workshop to <br />discuss the ordinances before they were placed on the agenda. <br /> <br />The City Manager introduced a request from Mr. H.Y. Price, jr., <br />President of the San Marcos Civic Foundation, to purchase lots 4 and 5, <br />Block 2, Victory Gardens Addition, for approximately $602., the <br />amount of accumulated del inquent taxes for the City, Counts and <br />School District. Mr. Price, after purchasing the property, wishes <br />to donate it to the Southside Community Ceiiter. Mr. King moved to <br />approve the sale of the property to the San Marcos Civic Foundation. <br />Mr. Yarbrough seconded the mot i on. Mr. K i rig, speak ing'asa'rriember <br />of the Land Committee, stated that the property would be used for <br />parking for the Center, and also would provide a safer entrance and <br />exit for that traffic. After further discussion, Mr. 'King amended <br />his motion to include the stipulation that the deed be amended to <br />include Mr. Price's intention to donate the property to Southside <br />Community Center. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Cunningham, Dela Rosa, Flores, King, Tauch, Yarbrough <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: Etheredge <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion passed.
