Scott, Minister of Education, First Baptist Ch~rch, gave the Invocation. I The Minutes of the regular meeting of August 14, 1972,were approved as pre~ented on motion of Councilman Yarbrough, and second of Councilman King. The City Manager reported that legal work on acquisition of rights- of-way for Sessom Drive had not been completed. Councilman Yarbrough moved th~t an ordinance scheduled for consideration at the August 28 meeting which related to acquisition of rights-of-way for Sessom Drive, be tabled. On second of Dr. Tauch, the motion passed unanimously. The City Manager presented for consideration a contract with a law firm to handle condemnation proceedings in connection with acquisi- tion of right-of-way for widening and extending Sessom Drive. The City Manager had been authorized at the August 21 meeting to enter into an agreement with Attorney John Davidson. Mr. Yarbrough moved that the City Manager be authorized to execute the contract for legal services with Sawtel Ie, Goode, Davidson and Leighton, Attorneys. Mr. DeLa Rosa seconded the motion, which passed unanimou~ly. I A Re;3olution authorizing the City's participation in the Police Caaet Program was introduced and read aloud. A copy of the Resolution is attached as a part of the Minutes. The City Manager expl?ined the type of training the Cadets are given by the Police Department. Dr. Tauch moved approval of the Resolution'authorizing the City participation in the Criminal Justice Council Pol ice Cadet Program. Mr. King seconded the motion, which passed unani- mously.
