<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />regular meeting, september 11, 1972 <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a request from Mr. Eulal io Rodriguez for <br />a renewai of the temporary permit on his mobile home' located <br />at 521 McKie Street, which expired September 1, 1972. <br />Mr. Etheredge moved the request be approved. Mr. Yarbrough <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr, DeLa Rosa withdrew his nomination of Mr. Mike Aguirre for <br />appointment to the Library Board. Mr. Etheredge moved Mrs. Kay <br />Pinkerton be appointed to the Library Board. Mr. Cunningham <br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Etheredge withdrew his nomination of Mrs. Johnnie Bratton <br />and Juan Palomo to serve on the Housing Authority Board; and <br />retained his nomination of Mrs. Jack Elder. Mr. King reported <br />that incumbent Herbert Eastwood was will ing to serve on the <br />Housing Authority, and placed his name in nomination. Results <br />of the secret bal lot, canvassed by the City Manager and City <br />Secretary, showed Mrs. Jack Elder as having received the majority <br />of votes. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the five names previously placed in nomination <br />for two vacancies on the Urban Renewal Board: Herman Korff; <br />Augustin Lucio, jr.; Celestino Mendez; and incumbents Jerry Moore <br />and Dr. Charles Willms. Mr. DeLa Rosa withdrew his nomination <br />of Augustin Lucio, jr. The Mayor requested each Counci Iman to <br />vote for the two nominees of his preference by secret bal lot. <br />The results of the vote, canvassed by the City Manager and <br />City Secretary, indicated Herman Korff and Celestino Mendez <br />received the majority. <br /> <br />John Pfeffer was recognized by the Mayor, Mr. Pfeffer requested <br />the Council to investigate the actions of Patrolmen McCoy, <br />Johnson and Eastwood, and the damage done Jose Ponce. The Mayor <br />said this was an administrative matter, and asked if it were <br />the desire of the Counci I that the City Manager make an investigation. <br />Councilmen agreed. <br /> <br />Mr. Etheredge nominated Mr. Juan Palomo and Dr. Emmie Craddock <br />to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
