167 THE STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF HAYS CONTRACT FOR AUDIT SERVICES KNCW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: Tha t the Ci ty of San r4arcos, Hays County, Texas, a municipal corporation existing by and under the laws of the State of Texas, herein- after referred to as "City", acting through its Mayor, Pro Terrpore, John J. Stokes, hereunto duly authorized by a resolution of the City Council of said City, adopted March 30, 1981, and Harold V. Sinpson and Corrpany, hereinafter referred to as "Auditor", a firm doing business as certified public accountants in Austin, Texas, enter into this agreerœnt for a regular annual audit, the preparation of a financial staterœnt based on such audit, and other additional accounting services to be provided to the Ci ty of San Marcos, Texas; said audit covering the fiscal year corrmencing Octcber 1, 1980 and ending Septerrber 30, 1981; the terns of said agreerœnt being as follC»Ts: I. REGUIAR ANNUAL AUDIT: Audi tor agrees to conduct a regular annual audi t of the financial records and accounts of the City of San Marcos, Texas. It is expressly agreed that said audit shall include the books and accounts of each and every departrrent of said City for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1981. II. CCMPENSATION FOR REGUlAR ANNUAL AUDIT: The City agrees to corrpensate the Audi tor for said annual audi t in an amount not to exceed Seventeen Thousand Five Hundred and 00/100 ($17,500.00), said amount being billed on a pro-rata basis beginning after February 1, 1981 and corrpleted prior to January 31, 19 82 with the final billing to occur on receipt by the Ci ty of the final corrplete annual audit docurœnt. Auditor shall request payrœnt in the form and manner prescribed by City and payrœnt shall be according to the attached Exhibit A which sets out hourly rates for ;sàtiJd service. III.
