Cost for the C;ty's share, a budgeted 1tem, would be $l,DOO. Mr, DeLa Rosa questioned the necessity of a soil survey, and the City Manager exp I a i ned the val" i ous ways when the natu re of the so i lis an important factor, Mr, Youngblood, architect for the Pol ice and Courts Building, stated the soil t~st for the build,ing cost $700. The question being called for, the fol lowing vote was recorded: I AYE: NAY: Etheredge, Flores, King, Tauch DeLa Rosa The, Mayor declared the motion carried. The Mayor read a letter from Mr. and Mrs. Wil I ie Burleson and Mrs, Lola Cheatham, see attached. In discussing the request for a street I ight in the middle of the 1500 block of Belvin Street, the Mayor mentioned the City's existing pol icy for placement of I ights. The City Manager was requested to check the sit~ation on Belvin Street and make a recommendation to the Counc ii, The City Manager cal led attention to the Council's second meeting in October fal I ing on Veteran's Day, a City hol iday. Mr. King 'mo'ved that the meet i ng be he I d on October 24, at the usual time and p lace. Mr . Etheredge seconded the mot ion, wh i ch passed unanimously.
