Martin <br /> <br />The Mayor,called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Rev. Richmond McKinney, pastor of Memorial Presbyterian <br />Chu~ch, gave the Invocation. <br /> <br />The Minutes of August 24, 1970 were approved as presented, on <br />motion of Mr. Yarbrough and second of Mr. King. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a public hearing"on the City's 1970-1971 <br />Budget. The City Manager presented a resume of the Budget, <br />with anticipated revenue and expenditures balanced at $1,372,658.00. <br /> <br />Mr. Zavesky moved adoption of the Budget as presented. Mr. Flores <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced and read aloud an ordinance setting the <br />tax rate. A copy is attached as a part of the Minutes. <br />Mr. Contreras moved adoption of the ordinance. Dr. Craddock <br />seconded the motion and on roll call, the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Contreras, Craddock, Flores, Smith, King, <br />Yarbrough, Zavesky <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an ~rdinanceannexing~ine acreS of land. <br />Mr. King moved adoption of the ordinance on second reading. <br />Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance annexing a 70-acre tract. <br />
