North of Walnut Street from "P-2" to "D"(multi- family). up to a line within 150' of the north line of the Schmidt property, 2. The remaining 150' to be zoned as "R-2" (duplexes) 3. The balance of the property ~to_~R-1" (~ingle family residential) Mr. Yarbrough seconded the motion. I Mrs. Nell F, Linebarger came before the Council as a representative of the Schmidt Family. She asked that the Schmidt Tract (see plat) not be included in the change of zoning, as recommended by the Planning & Zoning Commission, After discussion, the following yote was recorded: AYE: NAY: ABSTAIN: King, Smith, Yarbrough, Zavesky None Flores The Mayor declared the motion carried. Mr. King moved that a Trailer, Permit be issued. to. Oscar Guzman for use at 150 Sherwood Street (Lot 22, Blk. 1 of the Feltner Addition), Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Th~Planning & Zoning Commission had recommended to the Council that a deadline be set fo.r property-elmers. to connect to the sanitary sewer when service is. available, I The Mayor said an Environmental Committee would soon be ap~ointed by the Council, Mr. Smith moved that .this matter be tabled until it could pe referred to that committee. Mr, Yarbrough se~onded the. motion, which passed un~lnimously , Ross King. Chairman ofa TV Cable Franchise Study Committee appointed'la'st Summer, gave. a report to .the Council. He said he and Counci'lman Flores, and Dr. Oraddock until her resignat- ion, Dec, 31, had spent many hours in study ofa franchise, and in conference with the two applicants. A survey had also be made among cities under franchise to. the two firms, Mr. King moved that the City of San Marcos be prepared to grant a TV Cable franchise. Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion, which passed unanimously, Mr. King m6ved that the City of , San Marcos grant a TV Cable franchise to San Marcos Cable Communications, Inc. There was no second to the motion, The Mayormoicldthat the Council consider both applicants, San Marcos Cable Communications, Inc. and San Marcos TV Cable Co" . I nc., and that each, Coug~lman indicate. his preference on a slip of paper. Mr. King seconded the motion, I Councilman Yarbrough said that since he was associated in business with~n~ ~f,the applicants. though he had no interest in the TV Cab1e franchise, he would h;:lVeto abs.tain from voting.
