~ '.. ~ ORDER STATE OF TEXAS l COUNTY OF BAYS 1 CITY OF SAN MARCOS 1 TO THE CITY SECRETARY OF SAN MARCOS. TEXAS: II 1. You are hereby advised that Celestino Mendez, Jr., Clinton E. Burnett ,and Hou~ton Marney have been appointed by the City Council of San Marcos, Te~as, as members of a committee to recount all ballots cast at the election for positions on the Council of the City of San Marcos held in said city on the 6th day of April,197l, insofar as said ballots pertain to the election of a councilman for Place No. Four (4) in said city, Said appointment followed receipt by said Council of the application of Henry S. Cruz requesting a recount of the votes cast in said election for the office of City Comncilman, Place No, Four (4), of the City of San Marcos, The sole candidates for said position of councilman in Place No. Four (4) were the said II Henry S. Cruz and Frances D, Emery, 2, Said recount shall begin at 10:00 o'clock A. M, on the 12th day of April, 1971, in the Council Room of the City Council~ located on the second floor of the City Hall in San Marcos, Te~as. 3. Said reCOUWt shall continue for at least seven hours each day of every day that is not a Sunday or a legal holiday until same is complete, 4. The chairman of said committee shall be the said Gelestino Mendez, Jr. 5. You are hereby directed to deliver to the said Celestino Mendez, Jr, in said Council Room of the City Council, all of the bo~es II containing all of the ballots cast at said election. You are further directed to deliver to the said Celestino Mendez, Jr., the keys to each and everyone of said ballot bo~es. Said ballot boxes shall at all times remain in said Council Room. 6. A copy of this order shall be delivered to the said Celestino Mendez, Jr., so that he may present same to you at all pertinent times to establish his identity.
