public hearing, meeting, june 28 '71 page four Councilman Flores asked Commissioner Wranitsky if the County had investigated the Food Stamp Program. Mr. Wranitsky stated he was against it. The Mayor thanked Mr. Wranitsky for coming to discuss the current problems of the Surplus Commodities Program, and said the Council would take the matters under advisement. Mr. Flores moved that Ross King be appointed to the Capital Area Planning Council, to fill the vacancy left by the resign- I ation of Councilmar Hollis Smith. MY's. Emery seconded the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: ABSTAIN: DeLa Rosa, E;:theredge, EmerYiFlores, Yarbrough None King The Mayor declared the motion carried; Commis!;lioner Wranitsky announced that Hays County is now a member of Capi talAr~a Planning Council. Mr. Etheredge moved that the Rev. Alphonso Washington be appointed to the Citizens Advisory Committee. Mrs. Emery seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Etheredge moved that the Rev. Davi~Ch.vez be appointed to the Community Relations Committee. Mr. Flores seconded the, motion, which passed unanimously. City Manager Mark Gresham reported that the Rules and Regulat- ions .for the operation of the Parks and Recreation Program had been revised somewhat, and were ready for consideration. Mr. Etheredge moved that a workshop be held liIitht,he Director I of Parks and Recrea,tion. Mr. De La Rosa seconded the motion. Mrs. Emery questioned the necessity for a workshop; On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: DeLa Rosa~ Etheredge, Flores, King, Yarbrough NAY: Emery The Mayor declared the motion carried.
