Flores seconded the motion and on roll call, the follow- <br />ing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: DeLa Rosa, Emery, Etheredge, Flores, King, Yarbrough <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the ordinance Passed, Approved and Adopted. <br /> <br />The Mayor reminded Councilmen of the hearing on the Flood I <br />Control Project at the Court House, Friday, July 23, 1971, <br />at 6: 00 p.m. He asked that everyone try to interest as ' <br />many others to attend as possible. <br /> <br />The City Manager distributed copies of th& Minutes of the <br />Environmental Advisory Committee meeting. The Council agreed <br />by common consent that Mr. Gresham should take the suggestions <br />under advisement and make recommendations to the Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Gresham reported to ~he Council that the Urban Renewal <br />Agency is ready to sell the City' land acquired for a park, <br />throUgh the "Riv~rProject". He asked Gene Rourkei Fiscal <br />Agent, to present a schedule for selling bonds voted for <br />purchase of park lands, in 1966. Mr. Rourke said the City <br />was in good shape and a general good deb~ situation. A <br />discussion ensued on the bond market, timing of the sale, <br />and the probable deadline for purchase. of the land. Mr. <br />Flores moved that a decision on the sale of bonds be tabled <br />until the next meeting. Mr. King seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The City Manager said the Urban Renewal Agency would soon have <br />to have a name for the Historical Plaza ne8r the River on <br />Hopkins Street, and would like suggestions from the Council. <br />He said one suggestion had been to name it<for the holder of <br />the original land grant where the town of San Marcos was laid <br />out: Juan M.
