Chambers Survey. <br /> <br />Councilman King recalled that Mrs. Maggie Jones had <br />been denied a change of zoning in that same block, <br />and questioned the reasoning behind the Commission's <br />now arbitrarily seeking to change it. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor cl06&d the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mr. DeLa Rosa moved that the Planning & Zoning Commission <br />be requested to send a representative to Council meetings <br />when planning and/or zoning matters have been forwarded <br />for Council action. Mr. Etheredge seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Dr. T auch moved that Nick Lara's, request fOr rez oning be <br />dehied, and that the matter bF- referred back to the Plann- <br />ing & Zoning Commission for alfeasibility study on rezoning, <br />for commercial use a larger area, including the Lara tract. <br />Mr. King seconded the motion, and on roll call, the follow- <br />lng vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Emery, Yarbrough, King, Tauch <br />NAY: DeLa Rosa, Etheredge, Flores <br /> <br />Mr. King moved that the request from the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission to rezone the tracts out of T.J. Chambers Survey <br />from "R-1" to "D", as considered in the public hearing, be <br />denied; and that the matter b& returned to the Commission, <br />with a request that it be explained why the members thought <br />the change should be made.
