<br />regular meeting, august 11, 1969 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />Winter Logan, the City's representative for Trailer Travel <br />Clubs visiting San Marcos, came before the Council with <br />four recommendations, see attached letter. First and most <br />important was that use of the City Park for trailer travel <br />club rallies be restricted to the period between the day <br />after Labor Day to June 1. The purpose of the ruling would <br />be to. avoid congestion, and to give local people more use <br />of th~ park during the summer months. Discussion ensued. <br />Dr. Craddock moved that Mr. Logan's suggestions be approved I <br />and put into effect. Mr. Serur seconded the motion and on <br />roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Dannelley, Serur, Flores <br />NAY: Smith, Zavesky <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />It was agreed by common consent that the City Manager.have <br />signs posted cautioning motorists to be careful of children <br />playing in the park.. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced discussion on leasing the Municipal <br />Airport~oA.~~Williams, of Southwest Soaring Service. <br />It was.explained that Bob Crutchfield and Gayle Dragoo <br />of Austin'had requested cancella.tion of their lease on the <br />facilities. Mr. Dannelley moved that Mr. Williams be granted <br />the lease, subject to legal apProval of the cancellation of <br />the Crutchfield-Dragoo )ease. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion <br />and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, Serur, Smith, Zavesky <br />NAY: None <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved that ~he Mayor be authorizEld to sign all <br />documents pertaini ng to ~he Municipal Airport lease._ Mr . Smith <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor appointed Hollis Smith, Jerry Zavesky and Ronald <br />Dannelley to serve as a committee to study self-service gaso- <br />line stations. He offered to a'ssi.st the committee, if needed. <br /> <br />The Mayor appoi~ted Dr~ Craddock, Mr. Flores and. Mr. Contreras <br />to the Hays ~oun.ty Community AC,tion Steering Committee, as <br />representatives of. the City. <br /> <br />The City Manager stated a Resoiution was required by the <br />Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad Company for an easement for the <br />SBwer line to cross the tracks. The Resolbtion was read in full <br />and is made a part of the Minutes. Dr. Craddock moved approval <br />of the Resolution _ Mr. Dannelley seconded the motio,n and on <br />roll call, the following .vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, Se.rur, Smith, Zavesky <br />None <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />the MaS'or!:lec;:l~redth", .Resolution Passed and Approved. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned ~t~8:30p.m. <br />
