CoL. Luddington, Pastor of Greater Bethel Baptist <br />Churcb(~ave the Invocation. <br /> <br />Mr. Dannelley recognized Harry "Ricky" Hill, spokes.an for <br />a delegation from the Baptist Student Union of SWTSU. Mr. Hill <br />introduced Miss Brenda Taffand Phillip DePrang. The students <br />requested a parade permit for the evening of December 16 for a <br />pre-Christmas march from Court House Square, up LBJ Drive to <br />the Campus. Purpose of themarch,Mr.Hill stated, was to <br />emphasize the religious aspect of the holiday season,. It would <br />require closing other traffic to LBJDri ve from 7': 30 to 8: 30 p.m. <br />Mr. Zaveskymoved that the march permit be granted. Mr. Smith <br />seconded .t.he motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the October 27, 1969 meeting were approved as <br />presented, on motion of Mr. Zavesky a'nd sec'ond of Mr. Contreras. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Henry Kyle came before the Council to renew his request for a <br />building permit for his client, Or. Cecil Greer of Houston. <br />Mr. Kyle said he was under the impression that time had expired <br />on funding of the Neighborhood Development Plan, which would <br />mean the end of Urban Renewal in San Marcos. He urged that <br />Dr. Greer be allowed to buil~ a$300,OOorpartment complex in <br />Rio Vista, which is within the project area. Mr. Kyle was told <br />*hat the NDP application is still under consideration by the <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development in Washington. <br /> <br />Ross King, representing King Feed Co., came before the Council <br />to request exclusion of his firm~ property from Fire Zone #1, <br />to permit enlargement of feed mill facilities ,at the store. <br />He said the State Fire Commission had approved erection of the <br />feed mill. and had stated the feed mill would not affect San <br />Marcos' key rate.
