<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />regular meeting, december 8, 1969 <br /> <br />page three <br /> <br />requires that a public hearing be held before gas rates <br />are changed, and outlined the City's position on the <br />rate proposal. Dr. Craddock moved that a public hearing <br />be set for 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 1970, at City <br />Hall. Mr. Dannelley seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously, <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved that the Comprehensive Insurance Plan <br />(with a no-deduction policy) which had been under study <br />for several weeks, be approved by the Council. <br />Mr. Dannelley seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Council discussed the Swimming Pool proposal presented <br />by Kenneth Sutton, Commander of Post 144, American Legion, <br />on behalf of Hays County Veterahs Corporation. Mr. Dannelley <br />moved that the Council go on record as encouraging the Hays <br />County Veterans Corporation to proceed with their plans, and <br />that a liaison committee be appointed to work with Mr. Sutton <br />and keep the Council informed on the project. Dr. Craddock <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Mayor <br />appointed Coun~lilimenSmith and Zavesky as a liaison committee. <br /> <br />Mr. Dannelley commented that LCRA was doing a good job on <br />installing the street lights as planned and requested by the <br />City. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock commended George Consolidated, Inc. for the <br />splendid work they are doing on the Water ii'Sewer Prohect. <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud an appeal for financial contributions <br />to Southside Community Center. The work being carried on <br />was praised by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock expressed concern that United Fund had failed <br />in San Marcos. She said Southside sponsors many programs <br />that are crucial to the City's well-being.
