<br />II <br />I <br /> <br />regular meeting, april 13, 1970 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The new Councilmen having been seated, Councilman Zavesky <br />was named tempora~y chairman for election of a Mayor. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock nominated 'Hollis W: Smith for Mayor.' Ross King <br />moved that nominations cease and that Mr. Smith be elected <br />by aclamation. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion and on roll <br />call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Craddock, Contreras, Flores, King, Ya~brough <br />Nohe Zavesky <br />Smith <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Chairman declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Smith thanked fellow-Councilmen for the honor they had <br />paid him, and pledged to perform his duties to the best of <br />his ability; <br /> <br />Frahk Contreras moved that luciario Flores be named Mayor <br />Pro Tem. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion and on roll call, <br />the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Craddock, Contreras~ King, Smith, Yarbrough, Zavesky <br />None <br />Flores <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motioh ~arried. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved that <br />on the Land Committee. <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Yarbrough serve with Mr. Flores <br />Mr. Zaveskyseconded the motion, which <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a petition for annexation of Tanglewood #3, <br />a subdivision owned by W.S. Rader. Mr. Contreras moved that <br />the petition fo~ annexation of Tanglawood #3 be approved. <br />Mr. King seconded the motion and on roll call the following <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Contreras, Flores, King, Smith, <br />Yarbrough, "Zavesky <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion passed. <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock moved that the Mayor' be aut,hor'iz'ed' to ;sign a <br />Utility Agreement with W.S'-Rader for extension of water and <br />sewer lines within,Tariglewood #3. Mt'. Flores seconded the <br />motion and on roll ~all, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Contreras, Flores, King, Smith, <br />Yarbrough, Zavesky <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor opened discussion on a recommendation from the <br />Planning & 'Zlilning Commission that the City annex a tract of <br />land situated west and north of Oak Heights,see cittached letter. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />David Pool, Chairman()f the Planning &> Zoning'Commiss:lon, <br />came before the Council to explain in detail the background of <br />the Commission's recommendation. He said 'a group of propert'y- <br />owners from Oak Heights had appeared before the Planning &> Zoning <br />Commission to protest development of a mobile home park west of <br /> <br />Oak Heights. He reported their protest was based on probable <br />
