I I I ~ /'73 REGULAR MUTING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JUNE 22, 1970 Present: Mayor Hollis W. Smith Councilmen: Emmie Craddock, Ph.D. Luciano H. Flores Ross King Herbert A. Yarbrough, jr. JerryZavesky City Manager City Secretary Richard G. Beah Dorothy O. Worrell Absent: Councilman Frank Contreras, jr. Visitors: Dr. Alfred Borm, M~s. Alvester Marburger, Harris M. Koch, Jerru Martin, David Basye, Lanny Cravy The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The Mayor opened a public hearing on the proposed an~dxation of 38.61 acres bounded by Bugg Lane~ River Raad and Highw~y 80. No one came forward to speak for ar against the annexation. Councilman Zaveskyintroduced an ordinah6e annexing the 38.61-acre tract, and moved its adoption on first reading. Dr. Craddock second- ed the motion and on rollcall, the fol;bowing vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Craddock, Flores, King, Smith,'Yarbraugh,Zavesky None The Mayor declared the ordinance approved on first readinh. The Mayor introduced.an ordinance annexing 167 acres, as petitioned by Thermon Industrial Corporation. Mr. Zavesky moved approval of the ordinance annexing the 167-acre tract, on first reading. Mr. Yarbrough seconded the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Craddock, Flores, King. Smith, Yarbrough, Zavesky NAY: None The Mayor decla'red the ordinance approved on first reading. The Mayor read aloud a letter from Mrs. Dorothy Jean Rainey, President of the Dunbar Neighborhood Council, proposing the name of Mrs. Veda Callihan as a member of the Library Board. Asprev- iously announced at a Council meeting, Mrs. Jim Griffith and Mr. H.Y ~ Price, jr. will complete. their three-year terms this month, and are not ~ligible for re~ppointment~ Dr. Craddock moved that Mrs. Veda Callihan be appointed to the Library Board for a three- year term. M.r. Zavesky seconded the motion, which passed unani- mously. I t was agreed that names wO'uld be proposed in advance of the July 13 meeting, to fill the second vacancy.
